It’s extremely important to remember and talk widely about the republican capture of US media - this is exactly the point

They scream and scream for weeks about nothing, then bury the real news. It could be the path to fixing america

      We need pirate radio

Eh, what? In the old days, the means of mass communication were limited or expensive, so sure stuff like pirate radio made sense.

But nowadays, anybody can start an Internet radio station for very little money. Or a YouTube channel or whatever. The problem is people not listening, not that they are prohibited or prevented from listening to you.

That means nothing when the search engines and algorithms don’t let them show up.

I’m not embarrassed by being correct.

The Democrats had a chance to lock Trump up and they sat on their hands for 4 years. The Democrats had a chance to block the horrendous spending bill, but they caved. The Democrats had the chance to stack the supreme court and they didn’t.

It’s no different than saying protest non-voters share the blame for Trump being elected.

I’m just telling you how it is. I’m pretty sure alot of the seemingly democrat propoganda on places like Lemmy and Reddit are actually Republican propaganda.

If a bot farm says anything that is perceived as pro-Republican, they will probably be banned immediately. It’s a waste of their time and effort. I believe they get around this by posting unhinged pro-democrat messages; the moderators don’t delete it because it is seemingly pro-democrat, but it drives undecided voters towards the Republican party.

… just you wait. As we get closer to the next election, this and other platforms will be overwhelmed with aggressive anti-police and pro-gender fluidity messaging. I believe the technical term for what is happening is “false flag operation.”

It could only be a crime if he recognized the regulators as lawmakers. He thinks (as a lot of americans) that “I have big guns, nobody tells me what to do” The issue here is that he is one man, he will die, but the country and its people will have to pay for his crimes for a long time.

I hate messing up replies - sorry about that. Anyway, I completely agree. We are very close to needing/wanting a forced reworking of the US government. Fuck, it’s only been a “democracy” for around 60 years. People that are, somehow, loyal to the constitution are therefore loyal to an oligarchy designed to make the rich richer. Fuck. When the constitution was framed and signed, roughly 6% of the population could vote and they were all wealthy white men that owned land.Things need to happen, and US citizens need to be very up in arms, but the arms won’t work despite 2nd amendment beliefs (I do believe in that amendment personally) because, in the end, small arms cannot harm a fighter or bomber. The US citizens are, despite the guns, incapable of actual revolution - ever.

I disagree. It’s clearly not for them; as we continue to get pummeled by aggrigious behavior by world leaders it habituates us the be progressively less shocked by the next insult to democracy and human rights. Checking ourselves and putting these individual acts of hate, racism, xenophobia, and fascism in perspective is the one thing we can do to try to push the bar back to where it belongs.

Uh I don’t think “praise be to Allah” is an act of hate, racism, xenophobia and fascism, but also if the goal is to “push the bar back to where it belongs” then clearly it’s not working. Maybe consider doing something about the hate, racism, xenophobia and fascism?
