After Democrats’ historic victory, why is this how Hakeem Jeffries is responding?
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries isn’t interested in seeking impeachment charges against President Donald Trump.
Speaking on MS NOW’s Morning Joe Wednesday, Jeffries laid out his priorities for his party’s newfound leadership in the House of Representatives.
“The American people don’t want us to get even. They want us to get things done on their behalf because life is way too expensive,” Jeffries said.
I don’t want them to impeach his ass unless they’re a billion fucking percent sure they have the votes to convict his ass.
AND IF THEY DON’T HAVE THOSE VOTES, THEY NEED TO MAKE IT EXTREMELY FUCKING UNCOMFORTABLE FOR THE REPUBLICANS WHO REFUSE TO HOLD THAT ASSHOLE ACCOUNTABLE.

Nobody wants “getting even”. We want accountability!
Jeffries needs to sat a the back of the class. His red underclothes are showing. Trump, his gang, his family, his judges, his congress… needs to go and if Jeffries starts with his usual “oh it’s okay we’ll just all be friends” crap - we may as well have lost on Tuesday. He should have no say in the upcoming battle to free America from fascism and trump. Pussies and turncoats and money changers are not an option from this point out.
We hired y’all to do one thing - put America back together again and keep this hellscape from happening again. And that means clearing out the bad guys who’ve taken over our government. All the bad guys… judges, congressmen, senators, his family, his “fox and friends”, his treasonous military leadership, his “police departments, …”. And it’s got to happen pretty goddam quick else that pumpkin colored criminal will REALLY fuck up America… beyond repair.
So “yay - we won”. When the gate opens and y’all hit the ground - you’d best be on it from day one.
While there is a certain argument to be made about whether or not to pursue impeachment without the necessary Senate votes…using the phrase “getting even” is a rather disheartening way of dismissing the idea of holding these people accountable for their actions. That should be their top priority. The longer they wait to take action, the less likely they are to get results.
It’s not “disheartening”, it’s outright dishonest. “Disheartening” is when your kid loses his soccer match.
Voting just lets peasants blow off steam so the elites can get back to business as usual.
There it is, folks. The Democratic party apathy we knew would come.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad we have some check and balances back. But anyone who thinks things will turn around in January need look no further than this one comment.

Holding them to the law isn’t getting even. It’s not revenge.
What really pisses me off is that even by denying his framing, we’re helping feed it with the subtext “but is this pursuit of accountability tinged by a desire for revenge?”, which subtlely invalidates peoples’ legitimate rage.
Me to the cops, when I’m caught doing 120 mph in a 35: “Look, maybe you want to get even at me by throwing me in jail, but what does petty revenge accomplish? Be the bigger man here, and for the good of us all, let’s just move forward.”

So let me get this straight. They shit on our right to due process, they throw people into camps without said due process, they kill people in broad daylight. But there is no priority for impeachment or justice…
