Gay Gen-Z New York City Council member Chi Ossé has successfully done something that has failed in past attempts — ending the longtime practices of having apartment-seekers pay expensive brokers’ fees… and he did it, in part, by using social media videos.
I didn’t like the headline not mentioning the law, but I appreciated it highlighting the guy’s repeated attempts, ending in (hopefully) success.

Good job him! That said, I fail to see how his sexual orientation had anything to do with his success. It seems like his success had everything to do with his marketing/PR savvy instead.
I see what you’re saying. It’s referenced because it’s from a webpage that’s about lgbtq stuff. It was on its good news page that seems to highlight cool stuff lgbt people have done, cool people who are out, etc. i liked it more than the other articles because it highlighted the extensive effort he specifically made.
That makes a lot more sense. I thought it was an outlet “othering” him for being gay. It is my fault for not noticing the URL.
