The fact that gesture is quite similar to the Screechian Nerve Pinch has led to many troubles between owl and rodent kind over the years.

Though most articles only mention the tremendous strength of the GHO, I did find this care guide for Screech Owls saying to always wear gloves, as the talons can go through a fingernail, so it’s probably worse on the meaty bits. 😮
Getting the owl pinch is definitely not a bucket list item
