Which side of the shit were you on?
You clearly don’t know biology do you
Says the person claiming a fetus is a fully developed human.
are you capable of sustaining yourself I you were left in a jungle ?
Millions of people live in the jungles of the world. How many fetuses live outside wombs? Oh right, none. Because there’s a difference between having the skills to survive in the jungle, and being a fully developed human capable of independent biological survival.
Have you ensured that every single one of your gametes resulted in a child? Then you’re a genocidal hypocrite.
Then how come they can’t survive without leeching off a host? 80% of pregnancies spontaneously end in miscarriage. That doesn’t sound viable or fully developed to me. If it could survive outside the womb, you’d have a point. But it can’t, so you don’t.
You know who was actually fully-developed? All the women who have died due to pregnancy complications thanks to draconic laws that take away their rights over their own bodies. I’ll hold you responsible for murdering them.
I know, I was doubling down to reinforce the veracity of the judgement against me, to contextualize my dissent
I do not run a Lemmy instance.
I was way into Musk when he was the face of Tesla and SpaceX. Less so when he started getting weird. Jumped ship before he started getting real Bond villainy.
I’m not gonna hate on any season. They’ve all been half filler and half Harmon confessing his sins, and most of them have been roughly entertaining for the most part. Even the meta shit is roughly entertaining.
Lemmy isn’t such a limited resource. Taking up space isn’t that big a deal.
I used to do an all nighter at least once a month in my 20s with no ill effects unless I tried to do more than one a week. Tried it in my 30s, the recovery was rough.
Yeah, I get that. It’s just, there isn’t really a revelation here. That’s just what memes are: units of cultural expression based on broadly recognizable forms. “A hammer is a weight on a stick you hit things with” isn’t really a showerthought, it’s just stating the definition of a hammer.
I’m familiar with the term, just trying to figure out an interpretation that isn’t just restating the definition of meme.
What do you mean by this?
Clearly their shower curtain is a giant map with many city names
I’ve bought a few things recently, but one that really sparks joy is a 3DConnexion space mouse. Bit of a learning curve, but now that I’m used to it, the QoL improvement in navigation while 3d modeling is huge.
I feel like everything hinges on why your family is avoidant. Have they given a reason? It’s at least worth considering that maybe there are some serious red flags you’re ignoring. It may be prudent to talk to friends who know your girlfriend to see if they can corroborate any issues you might be blind to, and if these are serious issues it may well be worth reconsidering the relationship.
On the other hand, it could just be something petty, like race or class bigotry. If that’s the case, you just have to make a stand. If you’re serious about her, this will have to come to a resolution sooner or later.
But it’s really impossible to give sweeping advice without knowing the reason.
The free market is excellent at producing, at a reasonable cost, myriad voluntary luxuries like large televisions and speedy cars. These prices are naturally constrained by the consumers’ willingness to do-without. When the consumer cannot rationally choose to do-without, the elegant self-regulation intrinsic to the free market evaporates.
Ben Franklin could almost be considered something like a shadow leader, with very little direct power but a significant amount of political influence. I haven’t played newer Civ, if a Ben Franklin play purely buffs soft power, trade/research agreements, etc, I could see this working. He was still an actual statesman though, so even still he’s on paper a better choice. But he’s not a great choice if the build isn’t based on soft political influence. But Tubman just wasn’t that kind of leader, what she did was amazing, but it wasn’t really leadership of a civilization.
Recognize the problems which you have the power to solve, and the ones you don’t. Fix what you can with mindfulness and compassion, accept what you can’t with emotionless calm. Reevaluate periodically.
