That’s great to see. Audible is one of the very few services I pay for even knowing how bad it is to reward its creators. Whenever I can, I try to look for an alternative but ultimately audible just has everything.

So even if there’s still much to be done and not a trustworthy company, it’s good to at least see some improvement.

Also kudos to Sanderson, he gets a lot of flak on the snobbish reading circles but not everyone would have done what he did. He’s got a heavy position in the industry and used it for the benefit of many others.

Good to hear for the authors and they deserve more pay, but somewhat to that end I will nitpick that the average cost of credits, or income that Amazon is getting for them, has increased a little over the last couple years in that they have reduced the discounting applied to the bigger yearly credit packs.

So someone on the 24 credit/year plan is paying closer to the monthly price per credit than they used to, meaning Amazon is receiving more money on average than they used to.

It’s hard for me to take Sanderson seriously when he makes it clear his Mormon faith dictates his writing and worldview.

As someone who doesn’t know much about Mormons, in what way does it effects his writing?

I don’t have specific examples, but he’s said it affects his writing himself. However, I have a lot of similar experience with how the LDS cult works and friends who were raised in it, and with that I can’t reasonably trust anyone who aligns themselves with that religion.
