Tuvix was a sentient being who committed no crimes.

I will fight you. Roll initiative. I rolled 16.

Tuvix was a mistake. Janeway corrected the mistake.

Tuvix “lives on” in the separate experiences of Tuvok and Neelix, who are back in their corrected states.

And, let me get a jump on the weak argument about using the Riker transporter accident to make a second Tuvix to split. Why is it okay to split that second Tuvix then? No. Janeway did what the others refused to do.

Yes, it was hard, it that’s why she’s the captain. The captain is the one who has to make the hard decision, and it was the right one.

Okay well you didn’t roll initiative, so I’m counting this as a surprise round. I cast stinking cloud cantered on you with a 20’ radius.

At the start of your turn you must make a concentration saving through dc 14 against poison. On a fail you spend your turn unable to take actions.

Listen here, son! I haven’t got my Trek DnD setup yet, so I’m not fully in the know.

But! I will not be outnerded! So, I cast Counterspell at 3rd level, which negated your Stinking Cloud before it materialized!

Tuvix was an accident. All life is an accident. Yours, mine, even planned babies, accidents. No one life is any less valuable than another simply because an accident blended two of them together. Fuckin a that’s what mitochondria is

      Tuvix was

There is your crime right there, she should have shot that monstrosity on sight, before any explanation to what she is seeing (5 minute episode tops). I’m sure Tuvok & the flower would understand & agree given the chance.

(Lmao, debating killing Tuvix has got to be one of my top lemmy things to do :D)

It’s a trip. I can do both sides and have fun either way. Tuvix was a gift to nerds everywhere. And therefore Janeway was completely justified in doing exactly what she did, no notes.

They were able to extract the other two from Tuvix. Just have the teleporter clone them (like it accidentally did with Riker) and keep Tuvix. You end up with Tuvok, Neelix, and Tuvix. Three valuable staff members (well two - Tuvok and Tuvix) for the price of two.

How about, bring back Tuvok, Tuvix and Neelix, then just kill Neelix?

Star trek is infamous for having word altering implocations for their teleporter and then never touching it again. Half of all problems could be solved by some variation of teleporter fuckery, which would be a very boring show. And also iirc they only cloned riker by a freak interaction with a planets atmosphere, so that wouldnt be an option.
