These ones are hard to comment on. So the thing is this is basically a comic diary. I don’t know anything about the artist outside of whats in the comics. I went to cons for just a few years just before and after 2000 which I think was before she was going to other states for cons. I sorta ghosted chicon 2012 out of nostalgia for the 2000 one. Her big con (and from what I have heard maybe the biggest non corpo cons in the country outside of worldcons) was dragon con. I remember a guy who held a party to sorta advertise it in chicago and I think he might have influenced my rpg mates to go to dragon con and they ended up changing their parties to a pirate theme. Anyway she does not shy away from things like this but also does not emphasize them. Trying to balance stuff given the strip is humorous in orientation, but being a sorta diary it needs to touch on everything. Im not artist in a competency type of way but I do tend to be a thinking and I have had art history and such so I have some exposure to art in a conceptual and philosophical way which is more up my alley for things. There is often talk about great art coming from suffering and artists needing to put themselves into the art. Really to me the suffering is about drawing from all aspects of the human experience and unfortunately suffering is the most universal of our experiences. Well im off on a tangent here and I apologize.
Gimme five bees for a quarter, you’d say
