Right now I just finished season 1 of Yellowjackets, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite shows of all time. There is a second season, but I don’t want to watch it because then it’ll be over. I’ll have to wait forever for the next season.
It’s a genuine struggle.
A friend of mine will deliberately not watch the last episode(s) of certain TV shows because they don’t want them to end. I don’t really get it personally, but I guess some people really are afraid of finishing a show because it’s too good!
I have yet to start the final season of Fringe.
Yes, happens to me so much. Ted lasso, but I watched Ted with my partner so we had to keep marching along. Succession and Yellowstone I’ve been savoring so much that I’m only midway though both. I never finished west wing either because I read so many “you’ll only watch the west wing for the first time once” comments.
It happens to me with books too (I know a bit off topic). I just hate when good things end.
It was so hard for me to finish The Good Place
Wow, i came here to comment the exact opposite. For me it was just perfect, i felt the same satisfaction and contentment with the end that the characters experienced.
Absolutely - I was so worried about finishing Ted Lasso purely because of how good it was and how much I enjoyed it, and I really didn’t want it to end.
I’ve felt the same way about other shows in the past, but Ted Lasso i think is unique in that I really feel it ended perfectly, and even in the leadup to the finale the way the writers handled things made me feel so confident that it would end well, so in the end I started the finale comfortable and happy.
Ted Lasso is one of the greatest shows ever.
I had that with Dark. Still no other mystery show comes even close to it, if I feel like watching something similar, my only choice is to rewatch it.
And now the same thing with Severance (season 1 was so good but now it feels like forever waiting for the next one 😩).The worst was 1899 though. The mystery drew me in, I didn’t want the season to end… Then Netflix cancelled the show, just like that. No more seasons beyond the first one. Fuck Netflix, I cancelled my subscription after that.
1899 had so much potential. It just doesn’t feel complete with only one season 😔
Yes, multiple times. Hate that feeling.
Oh absolutely, I couldn’t get myself to finish the expanse for months because I was savoring every episode so much. I have the same issue with games, if I’m enjoying it so much I always delay the main story as much as possible because once I do it, I tend to lose interest in the game completely.
It’s weird but it is the way it is, I think I still prefer it over binge-watching something in a day and forgetting most of it within a month.
I’m doing this same thing with The Expanse!! I still haven’t watched the last season, I don’t want the show to be over. I haven’t read the last book yet either, even though I pre-ordered it. I didn’t have time to get absolutely lost in a book when it came out, and then everyone started talking about how fucking amazing the ending is and how “utterly wrung out and bereft, yet satisfied” they felt about it. How am I supposed to make time for a book that is going to wreck my world?! 😂
Deadwood
Knowing those mother fucking corporate HBO cocksucker cunts had cancelled it made it all the fucking worse. God fucking damnit.
Yes, and i hate it i usually still end up finishing them, but it doesn’t feel good
I’m a patient TV watcher. I usually watch shows when they’ve finished completely. I hate having to wait for seasons.
Or worse: get into a show that gets cancelled. Now I just watch shows once they’ve finished.
Happened with both Supernatural and Haven. Though thankfully both were wrapped up nicely at the end.
I know the feeling. I just started watching Stranger Things at the start of the year. I paused after the first two seasons, because I didn’t want to just tear through the everything., and because Yellowjackets S2 was about to start. Now that YJ is done, I find myself a bit hesitant to start S3 of ST.
At least Stranger Things hasn’t ended yet. And fwiw Season 3 is very good, Season 4 even better. I think you should watch them :)
I don’t like getting into a show that I know was canceled too early, with Firefly being the exception.
All the time. The worst, however, was the end of the 10th Doctor’s era. I really didn’t want to let him go. I even made a post on
[redacted]about it, but I was told to power through. And then the 11th Doctor’s era became my favourite of them all.
I experienced that with a video game once. I was overly invested in it by accident, even dreamed of it and cried many times. First, I didn’t dare to continue it, because it was too much for me, emotionally. But when I finished it, I was so sad as well, because that experience was over. That was a few years ago. Now I‘m scared to play it again. Haha!
I mean, hello, that’s just some media, but if it ticks the right boxes, those things happen.
