Then it devolves into talking about how “woke democrats” were part of what “normal Americans” were “petrified” about, and then the author mentions how people are starting to listen to RFK. Finally, you’ll come to the footnote stating the author was a writer in the Reagan and Bush Sr. administrations, and the tone makes sense.
Americans are petrified. But the author categorically fails to recognize that the fear is by-design, and is coming predominantly from one specific political party, and it’s not the one that’s “woke”.
