I just wrote a bash script copies the relevant files or directories I want to back up from either ~ or ~/.config and places them in a local git directory which I then push to a private repo on Codeberg. Super janky and manual but I update dotfiles so seldom that it works for what I need.

Technology@lemmy.world•Angry, disappointed users react to Bluesky's upcoming blue check mark verification systemEnglish
17·9 months agoI saw some small talk about it, and it really just boiled down to domain verification is great for more tech savvy folks, but trying to get larger accounts (think politicians, celebrities, etc) is a lot harder. Having a visual check, using tools within the app or site, is a lot easier.
And personally I like the idea of verification checks as long as it remains a simple means to do just that: verify the owner of the account. Morons like Musk and his ilk always thought it was a clout thing, and for a small minority that was probably the case, but by and large before he ruined it, it was great.

For basic form filling, the Firefox PDF editor is fine. But sounds like OP’s use case is more advanced than that.
Thanks for sharing this, it actually looks like a fantastic alternative to Adobe Acrobat DC.

2·2 years agoFinally, some love for my boy Yamcha.
For me it was salmon patties. My parents were fond of making them, especially during Lent. It was basically a can of salmon, toss in some (light) seasoning, and cook until its the consistency of a hockey puck. They were these dry, tasteless abominations and I could not stand them.
If I were to make them today, it’d be more akin to a crab cake and with fresh salmon instead of canned. But I won’t.

55·2 years agoWhat frustrates the hell out of me is that these warning flags are being raised in opinion sections and not in main articles in news outlets. It also frustrates me that local news outlets, where a vast majority of people throughout America still get their news, has not been covering this at all.

5216·2 years agoWhat about Biden is bad exactly? Yeah, he’s old. Yeah, he has the exact same position on Israel as literally every US president since its inception. But what about Biden makes him not “good” in your eyes?
I support Biden not because he’s an anti-Trump, but because he’s a genuinely good man who gets things done. He knows how to work the system and gets results.
Did I read correctly that Chris Brown is among the nominees? What in the–and I cannot stress this enough–actual fuck?
I think Halo is a pretty cool guy. Eh kills aleins and doesnt afraid of anything.

Peertube is the one Fediverse offering that I just can’t get into. It doesn’t have the content I tend to watch, and what videos I do see on there all fall into 2 categories: some dude rambling about something in French, or what looks like a hostage video filmed on a potato in some guy’s depressing basement.
