Maybe I’m just terminally online, but I’ve seen lots of people boast that they’ve “never gotten intoxicated” and view this as some sort of moral boon. It just reads as fear to me. Not that I’d force them to get high, but don’t knock it if ya haven’t tried it.
The anger I could work around, but saying “I can’t control it” shows a lack of introspection that would be an instant giant red flag to run away, fast and far. Good luck, friend. We all deserve love.

Similarly, asking anyone to defend their position on why sobriety is superior will eventually have them sound like they are insecure and judgemental.

I wouldn’t necessarily equate having a good memory or good intuition to intellect / being smart.
For certain subjects, I opted not to study and did well like OP is asking about. Studying would have helped my grades further. I just simply couldn’t be bothered and I have no regrets with how I chose to spend my time.
In university, I had low emotional intelligence, so maybe that was a tradeoff?

I think it’s reasonable to cut ties now and make amends if he’s somehow found innocent. We’d all love for him not be a piece of shit and for these women to have not been assaulted, but I’m just saying it’s not likely.

You’re allowed to have emotions, and as a kid they’re hard to mask or deal with. So letting your kid feel them and modeling how to deal with them is the right way to let them learn, rather than telling them they can’t be angry and just having them feel guilty for their “wrong” emotions.
