In a never-ending arms race what can they hope to achieve by imprisoning a minority just in case they’re more likely to be a spy?
Would like to see attempts to approach cheating in a non-hopeless way.
I mention software freedom whenever I can.

I can only imagine it’s what someone uninformed on tech would want.
Stop bad thing, help children. What? Consequences?

It will be great to see more PC hardware reviews with Linux in mind.
Does SteamOS offer something significant over other GNU+Linux distributions? Waiting for it to release as a catalyst to start including Linux seems a bit odd. I hope it won’t be like waiting for Half Life 3.
Lacking in what ways?
If that’s the computing you want to do then power to ya. I’d rather the software running on my machine do what I want, rather than work around it doing what someone else wants.
I assume having your own chat room with your friends would mean self hosting?
Planned obsolescence is a symptom of something which is, or aught to be, in your top 10 issues with big tech.
No worries. Think I’ll call myself an author as the source code is a text that can amount to a copyrighted work.
Hopefully this will not conflict with another field and and we can put this issue to rest.
I want groups with “Open” in their name who make software to make it “Open source”.
One is to view free firmware as desirable but not necessary
I can’t make firmware but I hope the people who can make free (libre) firmware don’t give up, which is what that position sounds like.
It’s interacting in our country, meaning we can do more than only “don’t use it”. When the platform is so massive, has little competition, or most other platforms do the same thing in question… maybe we should do more.
Might be a good time to change domain while you’re at it, if .io is about to be retired.
GamersNexus donating to archive.org so they can keep checking how websites quietly change what they say after they’ve been called out 🤠
Sad, but also funny to see someone revoke an MIT license. Presumably they think that is retroactive as why do it otherwise. Instead of preventing use they just un-invite themselves from any group that wishes to continue it’s open source development.
He and this wife didn’t choose their parents either (and any other contributing factors in their environment that made them who they are). Growing older doesn’t change the causes of the development of their brain, the cause of the choices you make, and if we could have saved them from becoming the person they did then we should.
With even the most evil people we can be sad they died but also happy they can’t do more evil. Uday Hussein, son of Saddam Hussein did some evil stuff and and if we could have prevented him from becoming the person he did when at age 8 or at age 18 then it’s the same.
One of r/InterestingAsFuck’s rules is “No politics,” which a moderator for the subreddit told us is the reason it was removed.
A rule for arbitrarily deleting any post on an ill-defined idea that some topics are not political. Why even say such an unreasonable thing when you can just say supporting violence is against site-wide rules?
Escape from g0at
HexOS makes using TrueNAS easier, is the claim.
I have never used TrueNAS so I can only say from what I’ve heard that I could easily break it (I have used Proxmox to run some web tools and game servers but that’s a borked project currently).
Their profiles don’t look like obvious bots :/
