    But I could offer an argument since you asked so nicely.

    The method of rationality requires a set of reasons to operate. They can be derived, logically, from other reasons. But reasons do not arise from nature. Therefore, ultimately, they must be gotten via nonrational means. Ie : from authority, convention, aesthetics, intuition etc.
