  • The process of in many cases slowly but methodically figuring out the solution for a problem. I work in R&D for electronics. I have to do a lot of paperwork, but sometimes I get to dig deep into the technical stuff. Recently we had an issue with one of our products. Line stop, management meeting, everybody loosing their mind. Got me some long days, but man, putting everything else aside and just running experiments to find the issue was a blast.

  • When I was younger, my friends used to play the usual shooters and competitive titles. I never enjoyed that. What got me more into gaming was the original Life is Strange. The game has its weaknesses, but at the time I just connected with the characters and felt emotions I didn’t expect to feel in a video game. Still love this kind of story driven and (somewhat) decision based games. Another one is Detroit become human. Still need to find something that matches the impact the player’s decisions have in that game.

  • Adding to what other’s already said: The device has a FCC ID, so we know this is some kind of radio device. FCC provides a database where you can search for FCC IDs and download some of the documents the device manufacturer had to provide to the authirty during the approval process: https://www.fcc.gov/oet/ea/fccid The entry for the FCC ID from your device shows, that this is an “Autmatic Meter Reading module for a utility water meter” from Itron. So, this device most likely periodically reads your current water consumption from the water meter and sends it via radio to your water utility for billing purposes. If you want further technical details, check the database I linked above. You can find a user manual and even some test reports there.
