I think it’s a cautionary tale against forcing women to have kids.
We need access to birth control, healthcare (including abortion), sex education, and quality education.
These horrible things cannot be hidden, just like war images shouldn’t be hidden. This is reality and we can’t turn a blind eye. We have to address real shit that happens in the real world to learn from it and get better. Or at least face the reality of the things we force people into.
Grocery shopping and food prep is always an option. Cheaper and healthier too.
If you have time to browse Lemmy, you got time to throw some shit in an air fryer/insta pot/slow cooker.
Jesus, it’s like they want you to order online from a third party instead of paying them.
The argument I keep seeing against fast food being too expensive is “use the app! It’s cheaper”. Fuck that. I bought frozen junk food and an air fryer. McDonald’s can keep their 15$ meals*
*Disclaimer that I don’t actually know how much a meal is these days, but I know it’s gone way up. Also, I do still buy from McD when I need to shit out a hangover. Sue me.
“No bad mugshots,” Dedmon added in another text. The other deputies understood what he meant: They had the green light to use “excessive force” on areas of a person’s body that would not be captured in a mugshot, prosecutors said.
I agree with the person I’m responding to. It’s worse than you think, go read the article

How is this upvoted? Didn’t the US go in there, destabilize everything, then just pull out, leaving a power void for the Taliban to waltz in and seize?
Because no one agreed to pay that when they were ordering. Imagine being a on budget for a night out and getting this extra charge outta nowhere
What if we were finally able to get insurance companies out of healthcare in the US? Thousands would lose their jobs, but millions would suddenly be able to get care. So much money would be saved, but so many people would suddenly be out of work.
I don’t know about you, but I hate paying several hundred dollars a month (and 100s or 1000s if I actually get care) to prop up a whole ass middleman between me and my care.
Anyway, my point is we can’t keep old systems only for the sake of preserving jobs. The guy you’re replying to is short sighted and relying too heavily on a language imitation program, but he’s essentially right about not keeping jobs just because.
Value in tradition? What traditions are these people valuing?
Yes? If you choose to be a homophobic racist sexist asshole, you should be discriminated against.
Sexual orientation, gender, sex, skin color are all things you don’t choose, you’re just born that way.
Ha the shared kitchen responsibilities is such a good call.
Damn we were putting up with so much bullshit in the office
As long as you’re not trying to force others into the office to entertain you, enjoy the other in-the-office folk :)
Your inability to focus at home and need for forced socialization should not be imposed on anyone else
If I had time enough to ponder my injuries after being stabbed, the thought “at least I wasn’t shot” would absolutely cross my mind. But maybe that’s just an American thing
At least he had access to a weapon that could kill someone in an instance.
I think it’s relevant to note that someone mentally unwell enough to kill another person (especially their own spouse) was able to hoard such a large amount of weapons.
I guess the rest of us are just lucky that he only wanted to kill one person, instead of several.

Is there an instruction manual on blocking/adding communities? I’m on Sync
Who tf is upvoting this? It’s highly unlikely this person has the acreage, time, equipment, and knowledge to grow all their own food.
Even if they did, it’s not a real solution to the vast majority of people.
