That’s all I can currently muster… I’m not a fan of General Custer. I like yours better.
I don’t disagree, but I’m one of those that was tearing up and wanted it to keep going because I was so invested in the world and characters. I would have happily accepted at least a few more "fade-to-black and then continue"s.
I believe Peter Jackson has a lot to answer for in this regard. I feel like the LotR films were the watershed films for longlongfilm acceptance, and they are actually worth the watch in their longest forms.
But then The Hobbit films happened. I remember feeling that 3 films sounded ridiculous and that they were all unnecessarily long considering the length of the book and, compared to the original trilogy, they were rather horrible to look at.
There’s no such thing as a job necessary for the survival of the human race. The only thing jobs protect is the economic system, which doesn’t care about the human race.
I think the tone is really reminiscent of stuff like Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill or Love Actually. Even though it got a bit more sad this season, it’s very wholesome and easy to watch.
I feel like you’d like Ted Lasso, also second the users who’ve said Ghosts (both US and UK).
Yeah, Silence of the Bats was in jest. [Spoiler] I do think the Clooney cameo was also more of a joke than anything. Also all the BTS stuff in the article about the scenes from other movies with Keaton taken out was super interesting. I would really have liked to see the Batgirl movie. I also wonder how integral a part Gunn was in all these decisions or if they happened prior to his involvement.
Though, now I’m thinking who could play a super old Batman, maybe Hopkins isn’t such a bad choice (though a buff Anthony Hopkins would be pretty distracting if he had to get in proper Batman shape), or would he be a better old Riddler or something?
I know this is not relevant, and for that I apologise, but I couldn’t continue reading after the there/their typo/mistake in the article.
As for the new Batman, I guess it depends if the continuity is relevant at all anymore. My money is on Anthony Hopkins.
I play with gamma and contrast settings on my device or the contrast and brightness in mphc, or the gamma settings on madVR. I really don’t like leaving settings on auto, but I try to keep it as dark as possible with some detail visible in the shadows, and make sure the bright scenes don’t clip the highlights. Sometimes its a back and forth from scene to scene.
I like it, enjoy it for the most part and am glad it exists. But the politics comes off a bit weak and tips sometimes too far towards the self-congratulatory ethno-centrism of bad early 20th century anthropology.
