Twitter threading does not make any sense to me.
lefixxx@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Linus Torvalds and Bill Gates Meet for the First Time EverEnglish2·16 days agoPeople don’t have to compile their own kernel to benefit from FOSS. Their phone can run the Linux kernel and the services they use run on FOSS. The more stuff based on FOSS they use the less license fees and RnD they subsidize. Imagine if you had to pay for every FOSS instance you use. Linux kernel, ffmpeg, openssl, docker, WebKit, mySQL and whatever, the same way you pay for GSM or ARM trustzone or console-like-platform-tax
No but he was in a lot of medical shows
I kinda have both. I have to know if that cardassian holographic doctor was someone in scrubs. And why do I recognize the chicken from the chicken ad in Bojack horseman and how is it not Terry Crews?

Youtube removed his content, saying that self hosting content is "dangerous or harmful content"English70·27 days agoYeah I remember once when my friends Synology started acting harmful when he run jellyfin on it. it started off gasing mustard gas. It poisoned the well and made his son addicted to zyns. All of the cars in his neighborhood needed new batteries. The country’s GTP dropped a lot that month and the ozone layer is gone. Thank God YouTube stopped platforming such harmful content. Too bad so luch damage has already been done.

My phone wallet now has 10 bank cards, gov ID, drivers license and 4 loyalty cards and 1 transit related info card.

And when I looked it up I found a tweet with a wrong prediction that he said was wrong 10 days later.
Insulting me is not gonna change my opinion or anyone who reads this. Backing up your claims with something more than “look it up” maybe will.

I would give up a lot of data for the convenience I have been enjoying for years of not carrying a single card.
lefixxx@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Palantir Exposed: The New Deep State [27:27 | JUN 10 2025 | Glenn Greenwald]English31·28 days agoWhat messaging, what are you talking about? He has been laying low for years. His latest interview was Jan31 and the only relevant thing is him denying working for Russia
Do you have any articles to back up “folding like an lawn chair”,“routinely promoting messaging supportive of Russian imperialism”,“spreading falsehoods”
Here is how you do it: Here is an article about Snowden criticizing Russian government. https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/sheerafrenkel/is-edward-snowden-trying-to-get-vladimir-putins-attention
So show us his “messaging” that is" directly aligned with russian security services and their key propaganda narratives". If he is promoting Russian propaganda you can find at least tweet that applies, right?
lefixxx@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Palantir Exposed: The New Deep State [27:27 | JUN 10 2025 | Glenn Greenwald]English41·28 days agoHow did Snowden openly supported Russian genocidal imperialism?
Snowden is often criticizing Russian government and has shown no signs of working for them. Him being in Russia is because he is hunted by USA. If anything russia is supporting snowden

But it will be a long time until it can do contactless payments, bank apps, safe biometrics and heavy apps. Now that I think about it,it shouldn’t be impossible.
lefixxx@lemmy.worldto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•How often do you take him for a walk?411·29 days agoI saw a gif around here some time ago. A woman was walking with their kids. When the walked passed a car ready to unpark the kid ducked in front of it. No warning, no logic, just suicide attempt.
I was gonna mention the silent k, h, e but then I remember french. They have like 50% silent letters at random. I remember how flabbergasted I was to see millefeuille written the first time.
I don’t remember vista being bad because of the translucency

Thankfully the functions of tailscale are open source so until enshittification actually happens I will be happy with using a a useful but VC funded project. When I am not willing to make the trade off anymore I will use headscale or some other drop in replacement.
lefixxx@lemmy.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Friendly reminder that Tailscale is VC-funded and driving towards IPOEnglish119·30 days agoYeah and steam is closed source DRM platform. Great software sometimes is worth the trade off.
lefixxx@lemmy.worldto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•I hate Samsung and their dumb software design choices, and this is one of them. Why do I need a SIM card to enable a hotspot whereas every other phone works without one?English5·1 month agoThat would be cellular to wifi tethering. How can someone expect to have cellular internet without a sim.
Is OP trying to use his phone as an routerless wifi access point? That would be a crazy edge case. And it still wouldn’t be tethering.
Fuck off. Replacing the leadership is a clear sign of enshittification. If you want the benefit make a meaningful statement about monetization .
