I tried that recently on a call to, I believe, the bank. It ended up just disconnecting the call. Clearly they know about this trick.

I wonder if this is just the new way to legally pay off Trump q? Anyone who sues immediately settles for large sums of money. You can’t even question it, because it’s how the legal system is supposed to work.
Foreign governments and corporations can pay him off just as easily and blatantly as domestic ones.
Even decades later, that phrase never fails to make me laugh.
For anyone who doesn’t know it, former Prime Minister John Chretien is from Shawinigan (note spelling). One day, an angry man made it past his security detail and started shouting at the prime minister. Chretien grabbed the man by the throat until his security officers could hustle him away, and ever since then the move has been known as the Shawinigan handshake.
What do you think this is, Russia?
My grandfather had polio, and walked with a can his entire life. At least that’s what I can tell from pictures, he died before any of his grandchildren were born.
Given that large areas of the world do not see breasts as sexual, it’s hard to avoid the conclusion that breasts are erogenous because our society has said that they are, rather than any innate characteristic.
When I lived in Africa, women and girls had no problem exposing their breasts, but would go to great length to keep their thighs covered.
For me, The Black Panther lost my interest when a super advanced, technologically-driven state decided that the best way to choose a ruler was to have two guys punch and kick each other.
My parents were happily using Mint for about 5 years, until my brother took over the it support role, and was uncomfortable trying to troubleshoot issues in Linux.
That’s why you end up with an army that is too powerful for anyone civilian to resist.
Funnily enough, the two ladies in kimonos were probably tourists too, although maybe domestic ones. It’s a common thing in Kyoto to pay to get dressed up in traditional garb and tour the sights.
You were right, I am seeing batteries between about $25 and $60 (Canadian) on Amazon. I’m pretty sure that the last time I looked for one, which was, granted, about 10 years ago, the one I needed was significantly more expensive.
That’s really good to know.
One of the problems with used laptops is that batteries degrade over time. If it has been heavily used, you might only get an hour or two out of it.
You can buy replacement batteries for many laptops that would solve this problem, but they are often $100 or more. Still, it may be worthwhile for you.
A couple of issues with that. For one thing, the uranium coming out of the CANDU reactors has been purified, unlike uranium ore which is mixed in with huge amounts of stone and other materials and it’s natural state.
Also, as I understand it the reactors convert about 1% of the uranium into plutonium, which is much more toxic and emits more radiation.
So while there may not be as great a danger as some people fear, there is definitely more than an equivalent amount of natural uranium.
I also started with Yggdrasil. A CD-ROM in the back of a massive book (printouts of all the man pages, I think).
It’s worth mentioning that in Luke, the earliest Gospel, there was originally no mention of Jesus appearing to anyone after his death.. The women went to the tomb, found it empty, a man dressed in white announced that Jesus had risen, and the women went away, too afraid to tell anyone what they had seen.
YouTube has just notified me that my family subscription, which cost under USD $3/month because I used a VPN to buy it in Argentina, is about to be canceled, and I have to pay the local amount, about USD $17.
It was good for the 2 years or so while it lasted, but I’m done with YouTube. In any case, I was finding the videos being shoveled in my face were irritatingly uniform and clearly chosen to reinforce my prejudices rather than challenge them or even give me an even-handed selection.
And fuck, I am just tired of all the reaction videos and clickbait “content” by talentless hacks who are just trying to profit off of other people’s creativity.
The best language learning system I’ve ever used is called Language Transfer, and it’s completely free (supported by donations).
It focuses on getting you to use constructs and patterns that you already know in your own language and transferring those to the new language. That way you start off with a good vocabulary and basic grammar.
They have Spanish, as well as German, French, Greek, Turkish, Arabic, Swahili.
There is also an app, which is plain but extremely usable.
I don’t think that Trump is anti-LGBTQ+. For that, he would need to have some kind of principles.
Fact is, all he cares about is what other people can do for him, and how much they massage his prostate with their tongues.
Likewise, he will screw over out heterosexual white male just as soon as he will screw over anyone else.
It makes perfect sense to register at an emergency room and then leave, so you don’t clog up the waiting room and get exposed to all the diseases that are there.
The issue, of course, is legal liability if someone comes into the emergency department and then is told to leave.
I’ve actually never heard of being called back by an emergency room. I very much have a sense that no thought at all is given to patients’ time.
I just moved to get back from Ontario, and my car insurance doesn’t seem to have changed much. On the other hand, I was able to buy a house for 2/3 or less of what it would have cost anywhere in Southern Ontario.
We have discovered some drawbacks, but all in all it has been a positive experience.
