This was already common practice to promote other shows during broadcasts way back when I last watched broadcast TV over a decade and a half ago.

I just flipped through the introduction of a GIMP book that the authors hoped 3.0 would be out so they could cover it but ultimately based the book on 2.6 due to delays. It’s copyright 2012, apparently something (didn’t) happen.
If he was at Walmart his issue would be finding one of those bags.
Would have to say very much so and ended the trend of bigger and bigger food and beverage options. I remember there being a coffee chain that was competing with Starbucks at the time that introduced a full 44oz frappucino-type drink, and convenience stores starting to introduce 52oz sodas. Seemed like the sky was the limit back then but all those super-sized options disappeared within about a year after Super Size Me.
On my RTX 3080 laptop I get a significantly lower frame rate on my laptop screen (240hz) and 4k external monitor (144hz) when using Wayland. Wayland has come a long way but I’m still going to be using X11 for at least the near future.
I’m just glad that it exists at all. Google has Chrome tied down on Android because they feel they can.
Apple: what’s wrong with just 8GB RAM?
I am a Debian unstable user who used to use Gentoo, the reason I stopped using Gentoo is revdep-rebuild. Do not want to do another revdep-rebuild ever again.
I have a 19" CRT monitor and a larger CRT TV for retro purposes, but I’m not too fond of using filters on modern displays, most filters look ‘fake’ to me.
Might not be a popular take but having an undefendable position like creationism does not necessarily mean “poorly educated.” There are apologists who have learned proper reasoning skills and use their education to bend reality as much towards their will. I think most people would consider Jesuits and the like to be very educated but also very wrong.
As far as signs that someone is poorly educated, there are people who make up “big words” to give the impression of having a better education to other poorly educated people. Which backfires when someone with an actual large vocabulary walks into the room.
He has his problems but I’m particularly concerned about the “GPL2/3 or later” clauses in a lot of GPL-released software and how the absence of his leadership might compromise it. I’m sure a lot of corporations would like to see a good chunk of GPL’d software end up under an MIT-style license.
I’m sure any rural broadband initiatives are going to be scrapped, all the more better for business for Starlink.
