Over here in Germany using a shopping cart “costs” between 50 Cents and 2 €. You have to put a coin in them to release the chain by which they are attached to eachother. Of course when you return the cart and close the lock you get your coin back.

Little metal plates without monetary value but still the right size are common marketing gifts by companies and organizations yet they still provide mostly the same unconscious effect of “I want my coin back”.

Of course there are also people who use little gadgets to unlock the carts without putting anything in but I wouldnt know about such things…

It’s interesting to me that so many people assume by default that others have smelly feet. I guess we have all met the stereotypical sweaty guy at the local nerd convention. But in general, if your body produces a notable bad smell when you are not exercising and despite basic hygiene, there is probably something wrong.

And neither can it be improved by kneecaps being overly twisted and pressed against the front seat all the time. Shifting position to avoid one-sided stress on the joints is the key.

I’m a big guy, so anytime I use public transport either my back hurts because the top edge of the back rest pushes into my lower back, my knees hurt because the space between seat rows are too small or both at the same time. So let me at least stretch my legs when it doesn’t inconvenience anyone. Shoes off, socks on.

Edit: To expand a bit: The recommendations are the recommendations because the STIKO works on a national level. 10 Person in 1 Million dying is a gamble I might be willing to take. The STIKO might not, because they potentially “sentence” ~800 people to death.

COVID-19

• 182,7m shots administered from start of the vaccination campaign till July 2022
• 120 deaths which are “possibly or likely” linked to the vaccination
• 1 death (if any) per 1,52m vaccinations -> 0.000000658% likelihood of dying.
• Chance of Winning 4aus49: 0.0000071511%
• You are more than 10x more likely to win the lottery than dying from a COVID vaccination
  • That is, if any of those 120 deaths are at all directly caused by the vaccination.

Influenza

• There are no known serious side effects in regard to Influenza vaccination which can be linked to the vaccine itself
• However, Influenza can cause GBS. So attentunated vacinations may trigger it.
• For the sake of argument, let’s assume that the vaccination causes GBS at the worst rate observed of 1:100k -> 0.000001%
• You are to still 7x as likely to win the lottery

Again, you assume that I am not covered by one of the aforementioned additional recommendations. And you asked for my reason why I got vaccinated, and that’s my main reason.

Do you play lottery by any chance? Got better chances to “win” COVID or Influenza than the jackpot ever. And once I win the jackpot, I’ll start worrying about adverse effects by vaccination. Because that’s even less likely.
