They actually do care believe it or not. When our city council was voting on municipal fiber we showed up to petition our conservative city council representative to vote in favor. Guess who also attended, a representative from our federal senator’s office. Oh man the look on his face when only 3 members of the public showed up, two of them major supporters of municipal broadband, and the third spoke up to agree with us. Mmmm priceless. The city council man and conservative rep were so damn flustered. The senator’s rep took notes the whole time and we got to talk to him one on one. These outreach events do way more than you would think, this is how they gauge what they can get away with. Don’t let them discourage you, show up and bitch!
Huh, that explains the 4B movement in S. Korea.
I guess T. Kingfisher’s Saint of Steel series. It may not hit the “fucking brutal” mark but it does cover a lot of dark themes like loss very well for a fantasy, also not afraid to get racy. I enjoy T. Kingfisher as an author so I highly recommend.
Have you considered checking out your local Community College?
There’s a reason why they’re my former employer. Upper management was discussing replacing our badges with the phone. We needed the phones to get into the building because that was where the covid protocol pass was kept and security checked. It was impressive how quickly they took advantage of the pandemic to make creepy breeches in privacy.
Preach. It wasn’t body cams but our company gave us all mandatory phones with custom location tracking software on them. It was done as part of their pandemic response. The phones were supposedly only tracking your location within a mile of the site and were only used for enforcing social distancing and infection tracking. Well when the return to office mandates came around, upper management was suddenly too informed about how much time we spent onsite. They swore up and down it wasn’t the phones and went to pretty absurd lengths to find some other metric to prove it.
I guess South Park called that.

Avenue 5 is a brilliant dark sci-fi comedy that I cannot stop thinking about. It’s basically a cruise ship in space but then things go wrong. The physics are actually sound which makes for some really fun and terrifying gags. It’s heavy on dark humor, but if you’re ok with that it’s such a fun ride. I am biased but I feel like this show is criminally underrated.
What! I applaud your effort in promoting Dungeon Menshi in literally every instance.
Based on the number of comments on this thread there are way more of us than I thought.
OMG I was complaining to myself today about the same problem! I am genuinely grumpy that the pen cap has a bump that basically resembles a pocket clip but isn’t functional. It’s like having pants with decorative pockets!! Now I just need to get a version that doesn’t require me to constantly screw and unscrew the cap for use and I will have less complaints. Thanks for being part of the very niche solution internet stranger!
Absolutely this! I work in tech and it’s shocking how much casual racism and sexism gets tossed around. It is super hard to build a cohesive team when one of the men won’t let a woman coworker speak because he doesn’t like their use of the word “we” when describing their team.
Dumb tic-tok trends and stupid dance videos are not what employers are looking for.
I am assuming they’re referencing South Park.
Heck yeah that last pizza sounds awesome! Haven’t used the “pizza” yeast but I have noticed a real difference with bread flour. The bread flour is a bit more elastic when shaping, it is easier to get to larger pies without tearing the dough. I have noticed that if you let it get too warm it gets really loose lol. I hope you enjoy your pizza journey, it’s a lot of trial and error. Tasty trial and error.
Hey that looks pretty dang good for a month in. Making pizza from scratch is tough. I had to make an extra dough ball for like the first 6 months because I would either tear the dough or it would fold over on the peal when I tried to launch it. It looks pretty nicely browned too so you’re off to a good start.
In this instance I am definitely pro owl. The humans ignored very clearly posted warnings about a territorial animal in the area and are shocked that the animal behaved aggressively. In this case, the owl was defending its territory and not going out if it’s was to target anyone.
As for a case of an animal being problematic enough for action, I am going to refer to our local menace Otter 841. Otter 841 is behaving very uncharacteristically for an otter. Instead of giving humans wide breadth, she actively swims up to surfers and climbs aboard. The issue here is that she is seeking out humans and engaging with them, which is dangerous for both the surfers and the otters. I guess the line for needing to take action is when an animal is both aggressive and actively seeking out humans. If the wild animals are only aggressive in situations where humans antagonize them, like violating their territory or cornering them, then the wild animals shouldn’t be put down. In the case of Otter 841, I like that their approach is to attempt to capture the otter and relocate her to a rehabilitation facility with no possibility of parole. I know it’s not always realistic to do so, but I don’t like defaulting to putting down wild animals. I agree though that aggressive domestic animals like dogs are a completely different situation.
Not sure about your preferences, it I thought it was really cute. I really enjoy the manga because the characters actually grow as people and learn to communicate with each other while still having personal boundaries. The male lead actually grows a spine!
It looks like it’s supposed to be smug girl supreme Nagatoro.

Uhhh light novels are mostly text with maybe 5 illustrations in a 300pg book. Perhaps you’re thinking of manga?
