There’s that ‘Raw Edit’ video that is missing over a minute of footage because they forgot to edit out the timestamps.

Unfortunately, this is not the appropriate place for a discussion.
BestOfLemmy aims to highlight good arguments / discussions / topics from across Lemmy. I don’t have the abilities to really do a fair and just debate here.
Why would an American tech millionaire believe in the power of money and become subservient to a Billionaire?
I dunno. Good question.
What’s that one dude who wore the hoodie and had the stroke and then turned out to be fucking insane? My guess is the stroke wasn’t what made him a republican.
His staffers were literally crying and large numbers of reports are that he is a changed man after the stroke. Its uncommon, but it happens. Brain damage can result in personality shifts.
He’s some Pennsylvania Politician, I forget his name but maybe a Senator.
Anyone who possesses the kind of money that they possess, even Yang, are only in it for themselves and their cronies.
Well yes. But that’s traditional American Politics and its been like that for a long time. People prefer the devil they know (money / greed) rather than other vices.
If anything, being openly greedy makes people more comfortable with the personality.
Now AI can sort through the hours of traffick camera footage
No it can’t, not without major hallucinations and/or basic errors (ex: Black People tend to be misidentified).
That’s the big thing about this AI push, it’s subtle mistakes are fucking people over right now. If AI actually worked reliably that’s another thing. But right now, people are mostly pretending that AI works and/or ignorant of its flaws.
I’m not on YangGang and I never liked that guy.
But it’s clear that this new party is Elon Money + Andrew Yang right now. This is somewhat worrying as Yang was a Democrat (albeit one that couldn’t win any primary and never reached critical mass, but a Democrat nonetheless). So there’s political power here that we need to consider as part of the equation
It gives Elon political cover and makes him look independent and looking like he’s splitting the Democrats. So we can’t fall for it but people out there will fall for it.
Elon Musk can’t start shit.
The only successes Musk has are when he buys out a leadership position, like Tesla (sued in court to become an official founder).
Andrew Yang is the one to keep an eye out here. Musk has the money but I’m expecting Yang to do the heavy lifting.
I spent $5 dollars cash buying a hotdog from the Street Vendor last night during the fireworks. Was this written down somewhere or otherwise can this be traced back to me?
And yeah, street vendors raise prices around festivals lol. But I needed a snack so I paid up.
Okay, three days since this warning. Closing topic now.
It has been multiple days since this topic was created. The original poster has seen my moderator-tagged message on the top of this post by now, and has even responded to other posters in this topic.
I’ll give it a few more days before locking. As a new rule, I’d like to say that the original topic creator should be able to adequately explain why their topic deserves a “Best Of Lemmy” if pressed by the moderators or community. Upon failure to discuss or otherwise uphold the spirit of this subcommunity, the topic can be locked, deleted or otherwise killed.
deleted by creator
This doesn’t feel like a BestOfLemmy to me. But it’s not bad enough for me to delete it.
I know everyone has different opinions on various matters. But the argument here isn’t even good in its original context.
That being said, I’m thinking of locking this topic as I doubt any good can come from it. I would like to highlight good discussions across Lemmy (including political ones) but this just isn’t very good on any objective basis.
This is kinda bad ‘I don’t care that you care’ in too many words.
This isn’t war. It’s political action.
It’s beginning to be violent political action though. Strategizing in these times and thinking ahead is going to become more important.
My uncle lives up in Omak
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omak,_Washington
This is a small town. We don’t call them villages, we call them towns for some reason.
Technically speaking, Omak is a city actually. But pretty much everyone will call it a town around here.
Sunset Riders SNES.
Ummm. Elon Musk made $100,000,000,000 by making internet propaganda about how his electric cars are better than internal combustion, lies about their capabilities (full self driving), lies about how often they explode and lies about how well his Robots work. And then the propaganda is so strong he becomes Buddy in chief and people think that literally paying Musk another $50Billion is a good idea.
The cats out of the bag. Internet propaganda is too cheap and too effective. Everyone will be doing it if only to counter Elon Musk (let alone make money for themselves like through bullshit crypto coins or whatever).
You or I deciding to ‘not fill the internet with shit’ stops nobody. It’s going to happen given this political climate and the benefits therein.
Lemmy.ml started off as marxist-lenninist site. All sites need to start with a niche and I doubt any future social network will avoid the niche issue.
I think normies are turning off of Lemmy recently, which naturally causes the extremists feel more loud (because the extremists will NEVER leave this site).
Trying to figure out a good social network is like looking for a good hangout in real life. The people who frequent is entirely the picture. It’s hard to compete vs commercial interests like Blue sky or whatever as they pop up though.
Still, Threads, BlueSky and Twitter are all obviously suspect sites that will seed algorithms with their message. Lemmy doesn’t do that. Lemmy has its own issues but it’s very much a pick your poison situation.
Early internet was just information about hobbies and for the betterment of people and furthering knowledge. Let’s take that back.
Nope. After 2010s proved that the internet is the central location for political battles with Wikipedia Blackouts causing major political shifts, Pandoras Box has been opened.
The internet is now the premier location for propaganda and politicalization.
There are several powers that are just restated omnipotence.
Perhaps my favorite is Featherine Aurora from When they Cry. She is the author of the story you are reading. The world exists to please her (and her audience). She cares little about the pains any individual feels as they all serve her greater purpose.
It’s ‘Just Omnipotence’ but it’s written in a way for very meta interactions. But yeah, her power to create and change the world is ultimate, she literally can do anything.
If there are that many mistakes here, then it’s likely malicious compliance. Someone was ordered to edit, so they edited in the most obvious manner possible.
This is quite ridiculous how shoddy of a job this was.
