Was this AI upscaled? It’s too coherent to be fully AI slop but has a lot of artifacts.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What subscription based services are actually worth the money?
201·7 days agoYour own email domain + an account at a privacy respecting email service is more than worth it. Avoids the privacy nightmare that is using Google/Microsoft for your email, and gives you the flexibility to change email providers on a whim if your current one starts doing anything you don’t like.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What subscription based services are actually worth the money?
6·7 days agoOnline backups should be an absolute last resort in the case of something catastrophic like a house fire, not your only copy of important data. Losing them should just mean a little less redundancy in that regard.
Most of the journey is spent traveling very close to light speed. It’s not a linear ramping up and ramping down of speed, since it takes more energy to accelerate the closer you get to light speed. Rather you quickly accelerate to near light speed and spend most of the trip working on that last small bit of velocity.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Playback speed past X2 is now a YouTube paid feature
44·17 days agoIt was never a free feature; they used to only allow up to 2X speed. Not that that justifies it at all of course.

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK you can turn off Google's personalised advertising. This prevents them from using things like your browsing history, search history, or personal data to serve you customised advertisements.
31·23 days agoDNS based ad blocking does not block YouTube advertisements.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Do people actually do this?
91·27 days agoI guess it makes it easier to find/verify the owner if they lose it? (Though there are better ways to do that). Still feels weird.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Cheapest way to back up a *lot* of data?
8·30 days agoSort your data into stuff you absolutely need to keep (personal files and such) and stuff you’d be okay with losing (less important files, device backups, downloads you can redownload, etc). Then only back up the former. As for backup medium, ServerPartDeals often has some pretty good deals on storage; they were selling refurbished 12TB drives for $80 a pop a while back.

Unpopular Opinion@lemmy.world•CoPilot is a good feature and will be built into every major desktop OS
4·1 month agoPeople are too used to using the downvote button as an “I dislike this” button, and that carries over here. Solid unpopular opinion though; I wholeheartedly disagree.

Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•This browser extension replaces Wikipedia's donation pop-ups with a counter of its real revenue
57·1 month agoWhat browser extension are you referring to? I don’t see a link. And yeah, they’re not the worst place to donate money to but they have plenty already.

The copyright doesn’t apply to the event of Vance being booed itself, it applies to that specific video recording of it. Sure the video creator is a dick for getting it taken down, but they’re within their legal rights to.
