I think it affects amd64 / x64 because they originally used a 32-bit time_t for compatibility with x86 to make multiarch easier.
I don’t believe it affects arm64.
I’m also on Mastodon as https://hachyderm.io/@BoydStephenSmithJr .

We’ve still got time to fix it, and the next release of Debian will likely have a time-64 complete userland. I don’t know the status of other “bedrock” distributions, but I expect that for all Linux (and BSD) systems that don’t have to support a proprietary time-32 program, everything will be time-64 with nearly a decade to spare.
Agreed. Feet look clean and healthy, and if they were removed from shoes, I can guarantee they have less foreign matter on them then the shoes they were removed from, so I’d prefer them on the seat cushion rather than the shoes. If they were removed from shoes, they might be sweater and have more bodily products in general than the shoes they were removed from, but I doubt the seats on public transit are going to long avoid sweat and skin.
Some people’s insistence on covering all body parts at all times in public makes no sense to me.
In Contact (I can’t remember if the movie, book, or both), they counted out things in terms plank lengths and quarks / leptons.
I just want a version that supports multiplayer on Linux. I wasn’t able to experience the writing disaster that was BL3. Been stuck in single player on BL2 or the pre-sequel for years.
Fuck that. Clock noon and solar noon need to diverge less, not more.
Great policy. Misogynistic, racists, liar will say anything for attention, tho.
As long as they can get tzdata / Olsen db updates before the first change, there’s usually no problem. But, I’m sure there are still devices out there using the OLD US switchover dates from the Bush era, because they have a different, possibly “hard-coded” rule set.
I was taught that lying is a sin and if I do it I will burn in hell for all enteeity. Also, that it is expected that I lie on basically every form I’m provided, mostly by ommission but other ways too.
There’s a reason I rarely feel hopeful.
If s not a requirement if it is optional or noce-to-have!
Society: UHC, the people are rioting because they have no Bread!
UHC:
I don’t know about other people, but I tend to drift toward doing things that are fun, comfortable, and familiar, unless I do some “internal parenting”. Even if they found a way to make redistributing their wealth fun, they are shaped by capitalism even more than myself, so I doubt they’d find it comfortable or familiar.
That’s how I understand it.
I’m going to get comfortable and familiar with community investment of my own resources well before I reach 1B, by intention.
“Kill all billionaires” isn’t a genocidal statement, since it’s not based on genetics, language, or culture.
I think it’s a bad plan, but we shouldn’t conflate genocide with mere mass murderous intent. (Also, “all billionaires” is only like 10k people at most, so it would be a very small mass murder compared to most genocides.)
I understand why Queen B or T Swift aren’t doing it, but the only moral activity (beyond survival tasks) that a “good billionaire” can be engaged in is redistributing their wealth to marginalized workers.
You can figure out your next album / tour or how to benefit your friends and family once you get to 999M USD.
I think you can have a POV without having a body, and you can “be somewhere” based on your POV rather than your body.
But, I also think that probably not the only reasonable guess at what the uploaded experience is like.
If it is possible for the mind to survive the death of the body, I also think uploading would be fine. It’s a risk to be sure, but not having a body would actually address a lot of my current disappointments.
If resurrection is possible, I’d like to think the death could be prevented. But, I’ll take it if uploading is not available and death of the body is still inevitable.
Any parts that can be used to improve a human life should be used that way. Then any parts that can be used to improve animal/plant life should be used that way. Then the rest should be disposed of in the manner that consumes the fewest resources.
But, I’ll be gone; you guys can do whatever with it; I won’t care.
That rate seems high. But, I have done post-mortems on a bad developer’s run at a company, and found they did very nearly nothing. No commits, no issues opened or closed, some comments, but that was almost their entire digital footprint.
Most developers I’ve worked with are obviously not doing nothing, though some of us (including myself) get stuck doing a lot of work on a project that never makes it into production due to shifting priorities.
Every time we kiss exchange public keys, I feel like I could fly communicate securely.
Either is better than X/Twitter for now. Bluesky is “easier” for many people. I prefer Mastodon myself, but there’s a bridge so I can follow Bluesky profiles (and vice-versa) which is nice.
