When your brain explodes out your other ear, you don’t want to be getting any in your eyes. Also, its not a plug, it just ties them to the table so you don’t steal them.

blackbrook@mander.xyzto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you know a music player from fdroid that does this?4·1 day agoI don’t have an answer, but FWIW, here’s ideas for expanding your search in case exactly such a thing doesn’t exist:
video players can sometimes handle audio too, maybe a video player has this function
players that have command line interfaces sometimes have timestamp parameters (i think such players exist on Linux, don’t know about Android)
Scientists have been known to be materialist.

the walk is good for your though. You can feel like a badass for doing it, but complaining kind of weakens that.

The problems comes with corporations making decisions about what users should need to understand, and what users want. There’s been a lot of dumbing down and manipulation in that process, serving the needs of those corporations and advertisers and not the needs of the users.
Software can be made useful for those who don’t want or need to undertand all the details, in a good, non-harmful way. The principle of separation of interface and implementation even demands it. But our society being what it is, that largely doesn’t happen, so I’m inclined to agree with your pessimistic take.
blackbrook@mander.xyzto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are your favorites? How do you like them?1·4 days agoI love the stains! I have recipe pages that look like this and know it is the sign of a well loved recipe.
blackbrook@mander.xyzto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are your favorites? How do you like them?3·4 days agoThe pimento doesn’t really have all that much flavor, espec next to the olive. You should definitely try some green olives again, it is one of this things that it’s not uncommon to dislike as a child and later acquire a taste for.
If we did we could save the money we spend on toothbrushes.
blackbrook@mander.xyzto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Are there vignette-ed sunglasses or glasses that are tinted so they are vignetted to subtly nudge attention to a particular, mediated focus?5·7 days agoVignetted? If I’m correctly inferring what you mean by that, you might also try ‘tunnel vision’ as search term.
Humerous rant or not it seems reasonable to assume its basic claims about the animal are factual. It seems really fucked up to make shit up about an animal in order to rant about it.
or a Dengue
Well yes, and what it means for “there to be things” is a whole discussion in itself. But the concepts of space and time are rather deep and fundamental (to our mental models regardless of how or if that maps to objective reality). The preference for right angles is much less fundamental and we can see past and get over it.
All this should tell us is that we have a strong irrational preference for right angles being aligned with each other.
Could somebody point out where the safe rocks are?
I would guess it’s to fool their prey.
blackbrook@mander.xyzto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How many mL of sparkling mineral water should I add to wine to make it adequately sparkling like champagne/bubbly?1·12 days agoWhy would you ask this rather than adding it to wine yourself to see what amount you found satisfying?

you would probably end up degrading your own experience; getting irrelevant ads
Irrevant ads = less targeted ads. You seem to think this is a negative. I’m saying it is actually a positive.
I play some music (thru earbuds unless my wife happens to be away). My go to is the Goldberg Variations. I think the reason it works, even though it can be quite busy and fast in some parts is that there is enough complexity to occupy the mind, but enough sameness to lull, and I know it really well.
Sometimes I’ll take 1mg of melatonin, and a cup of warm milk with honey.
