Still rocking my 2012 Silver genpu since I drove it new off the lot. Been the best balance of fun and reliability I’ve ever seen in a car. Just waiting for Mazda to get their shit together on their EV’s and make an electric AWD 3 hatchback.

Yes, nearly 71% globally.
Apple is the biggest really only in North America.
Drop has kinda gone to shit anyways. Though I have gotten some good headphones off them. But I ordered a set of wood IEM’s back in January. Got and update like a month later that the supply chain got messed up, will ship in June. Current order status is “Reserved for shipment. Estimated ship date: July 10”. So like a week ago. And all the emails from them lately have been
“Check out these amazing keycaps!11!1!”
“Hey look, we got more keycaps!!!”
“Limited time only super-special keycaps!”
“Hey, you looking for some keycaps?!”
It’s not what it used to be, just like everything else on the internet.
Cpu is a ryzen 2600, it doesn’t have an iGPU.
MakeMKV (at least in windows) lets you rip a remuxed mkv without having to rip everything. So you can just select the titles, audio, and subtitle tracks you want without ripping all the other stuff. You don’t need to make a full backup and then pull all that out.
This actually pushed me and a couple of friends to subscribe to Nord; I’d been thinking I should get a VPN for a while anyways. I looked through VPN’s and I ended up liking Nord’s feature set and price vs ExpressVPN. Never thought I’d use them back when they were EVERY video’s sponsor on YouTube lol.
I game at 3440x1440 ultrawide, and upgraded from a 3090 to 4090. 4090 is significantly faster and smoother. And DLSS3 frame interpolation is no joke- in Hogwarts Legacy with every setting cranked up and max ray tracing, turning on DLSS3 jumped me from around 80fps with noticeable 1% low stutters and now pegs it at the 144fps limiter I set in game. Smooth as butter.
Also I mess around with some AI things like stable diffusion, and it’s much faster for that as well. As much as I hate the term “future proof”, the 4090 is more worth it in that regards, IMO.
Microsoft’s Gamepass gives you a discounted price on games, so if you see that something is going to fall out of their subscription catalog you can purchase it for less. It’s only like 20% off but it’s nice that they offer it.
Dark Helmet above them all, as it should be.
I’m in the same boat, I’ve been interested in the folding phone concept for years, but I’ve been waiting for them to get slimmer, have less of a crease, and have a better front screen for journal quick use. I was tempted to wait and buy the new Galaxy Fold 5 when it comes out. It’s supposed to have the new teardrop design hinge that immensely helps out with the crease. But then it looks like they still aren’t going to do anything with the front screen from the Fold 4, which I don’t like, so I just bought the Galaxy S23 Note (let’s face it, that’s what the Ultra is) instead. Hopefully by the time the Fold 7 comes out they’ll have made some changes.
Damn, HBO really needs to pick up Half Life as a live action show.
Can it be called c/GameOfThronesSeasons1-5.5?
Try out kbin, it’s geared for Lemmy and mastodon in one place.
Awesome stuff! Love the abstract ones in particular, but that’s just my style.
Alyx came out 4 years ago, and is recognized as one of the best VR titles of all time. It’s a full 15 hour game, so not a tech demo. I’d say that’s a hit.
