This is the first time I’m hearing/reading Dendy from somwhere other than my Family - we have one at home, or at least they have called it that. I thought it was a weird translation or something haha

Idk I gave it to my sister and she had 0 complaints. I don’t think it’s perfect, but a sane default choice.
If you care about the app being open source, I’ve used Energized: https://f-droid.org/packages/com.flasskamp.energize/
Worked well enough for me, but my needs are low 👍
For me, it was the docs and seemingly being more straightforward. Nix always seemed like something I’ll never understand because of it’s many ways to do things while having hard to follow docs at times, but guix made sense to me. Nix obviously has it’s clear upsides over guix - both are good!
Thats very fair! Similarly, I looked at r/unixporn and wanted whatever they have. I gotta admit - that WAS a motivation for me hahaha
Other DEs or gui frameworks support proper theming, adwaita has it’s reasons to ignore it. I’d love to see/hear about cool things you can do with qt theming or whatever, but whenever I got theming related things on my screen, it’s about how adwaita/gnome sucks and will kill your childlike wonder
I honestly don’t get the adwaita hate. These apps try to be simple and functional. This is the software for normal people who just want things to work. I used to care about theming my desktop a lot, but I’d rather have apps where form follows function (is that how you use that phrase?)
And there are projects that do bring almost enough theming to adwaita (“almost” = I saw 1 issue for me - rewaita is still pretty amazing): https://github.com/SwordPuffin/Rewaita

Helix: Barely needs a config. But they are also pretty close to done with a plug-in system for the stuff that isn’t implemented by default :D
I hate Dark Souls 3. It was just so boring to me.
I enjoyed the exploration: you can’t just run through the game since death is around every corner, which made it exiting and rarely that frustrating.
But most Bosses where just so boring. You learn them once, and your reward is that you can actually play the good part of the game again. If I look at something like Monster Hunter, learning the Monster gives you a faster clear time, which makes farming easier and is satisfying that way. Learning a boss in DS reminded me when I was about to quit geometry dash - I just feel my time has been wasted.
There are a lot of cool builds! And you will probably only play one each playthrough, because leveling unlocks a playstyle, but levels get VERY expensive (and I don’t think you can undo levels), so at some point you stop experimenting and just go with what you where already playing the last 20h.
These points made it hard for me to focus on the amazing parts of the game. The atmosphere, the combat and, as mentioned, exploration.
“If you hate it so much, why bother playing through it?”: after beating abyss watchers, I said to my DS Friend that I don’t like this game. He said “Get Good” so I did. It’s still just not a fun game (for me)
