You don’t argue for others, you argue for you.

Too many people these days, on this platform but also many others, have unchallenged opinions. They copy the opinion of their peers, and they make sense because these peers only give you arguments in its favor. People also tend to believe in what they want to believe.

Arguing helps you question those beliefs. Because to have a good arguments, you gotta bring points, but because the person you’re arguing with won’t just blindly believe in that opinion you’ll have to defend them.

I know this isn’t a popular opinion on Lemmy and similar potent echo chambers, but perhaps for your own good and nobody else’s, try and have an argument.

Indeed such is the big downside of AI, that and the slow death of education/learning. I too wish I could still write code myself. Well, except java anyway, I’m glad AI can write java.

Does it matter what year I used initially? It was a quick guess, and the context should have made that clear. I always go with 2023 because this is the year most people decided LLMs were dumb (rightfully so) and didn’t try them since.

Honestly, last year was still early, it had just begun to start thinking. LLMs only really got good ~6 months ago. With the current frontier though, not happening.

In 2023 maybe. These days, it’s not happening, terminal use is baked into their training, they do not search for it. The training quality is high enough that there’s no chance this goes through either. In reality, this is just hurting the beginners that will actually believe it.

Perhaps it could trick eg. google search’s builtin one though, but I don’t think anyone trusts it anyway.

And yet it’s LLMs doing these things, not only ML. People don’t cure cancer either, but the things that get close (eg. AAV viruses) are currently being done with LLMs.

I never said it’s a mental illness, it’s normal human behavior to get addicted to things.

Like many things, it’s only healthy in moderation. If you’re one of those reddit dudes janking it three times a day yet say they’re not addicted, it’s very likely an addiction.
