I’m hoping for plantar warts. The dumbass deserves an uncomfortable reminder of their stupid decision with every step they take.

So you’re saying humanity is a mecha space opera?
Yep. The spooks are prudes about weed. No wonder we have a lack of talent in classified work.
It’s not like DNA testing wouldn’t confirm they’re Koreans. They’re just wasting fuel doing this.
Can’t think of any modern mergers that didn’t result in a worse situation than it started. Stellantis has been the biggest train wreck so far. Honda and Nissan don’t deserve a bad future like this.
They can try but they’ll never be able to reach all instances that defederates from them. Meta and the rest of the fediverse will be like two non-overlapping ecosystems.
Wow fuck censorship. Lemmy.world should be ashamed of doing this.
I was once at a kind of pawn shop and was holding a few games I was planning to buy. A shop clerk came by, asked to look at the games, took a picture of them, and went back to his counter without saying a word. I left the games back where I found them and walked out. They didn’t do this with any of the other Japanese customers. Racism is definitely around, just not everywhere.
It makes sense though. Adults can buy whatever they want without hoping it would be gifted to them. Kids on the other hand aren’t exactly swimming in disposable income.
I agree. Pretty much everything my wife and I receive are things we didn’t want or need in the first place. The stuff we give out are also the same for their recipients. We’re planning to tell our friends and family next year to skip out on presents for us and just donate the money to a good cause if they still want to gift us something. The only thing that matters to us is to spend a good time with them.
The only exception to this would be for kids of course. They deserve the joy of unwrapping toys and gadgets.
Nothing says Trump like Big Macs on a fancy platter.
I think the biggest concern is if they’re still using the same chilis as before. There was some falling out between Huy Fong and its supplier over payment. Not sure if they settled it though.
Thanks!
I hate it.
Please, take a clearer pic of the instructions. I must know the secret of the three seashells!
For grimdark I recommend The First Law trilogy. It’s a little like Lord of the Rings mixed with Game of Thrones. You won’t find too many fantasy creatures or instances of grand magical displays, but the few you do will be pretty memorable. The characters are all terrible people and I love it that way.
An honorable mention is The Warded Man which has a world overrun with demons that hunt in the night. The only protection humans have is some settlement walls painted with special wards that help keep them away.
For an interesting magic system check out The Lightbringer series. It’s based off color, with each one having a unique property and psychological effect on the user (e.g. red light creates flammable materials and makes the user get a little enraged). It features technology made from the materials made out of this light and even has a church that governs these magic users.
They made some cool toys so why not bring it up?
Many of the Cosmere books have some very interesting fictional technology. In Stormlight Archive for example there are these things called fabrials that are powered by “spirits” and can allow for things like telecommunication and air conditioning. Mistborn uses metal based technology that can power airships. The best part is, these different magic systems exist on different planets in the same universe. Some stories even involve travelers from these different planets interacting with each other.
We’re all a ship of Theseus if you think about it. It’s likely we don’t have a single atom left over from when we were born.
181cm. Low hanging branches and the occasional car door makes it a headache sometimes.
For real. Like Fox News pundits, they’re being paid to not understand the consequences of their own work. They’re a drain on tax funds performing ineffective security theater at the cost of convenience, privacy, and sometimes the flights of ordinary people. If you’re TSA, you should consider something else that would be of greater social benefit.
