Games@lemmy.world•GOG seemingly shares that they are considering physical PC 'big box' games. Maybe?English
81·14 days agoEvery time I read this fake ecological motivation I aks myself why people think we can save the planet without some plastic and paper in a little box of human art, instead of considering real problems like big industry procedures and food packaging. Priorities.

Games@lemmy.world•GOG seemingly shares that they are considering physical PC 'big box' games. Maybe?English
6·14 days agoIt would be fucking awesome. I can totally see others doing this in the future but GOG is the perfect player for selling drm-free physical stuff at the moment. People who think “full digital is the inevitabile future everything” are just sad analysts watching their own garden, we already know PS5 selling datas were manipulated from Sony, people need physical like in any other art medium.

RetroGaming@lemmy.world•List of games that come loaded on their cart/discEnglish
7·15 days agoAs you can see on doesitplay.org even a lot of PS5 games can be played from disc without major issues, Sony was the last to offer such a great product for players, so sad about the recent announcement…

6·15 days agoI can see third party companies for this since Valve is probably the last one who wants you to not buy digital.

5·15 days agoThe problem with LRG and similar is the limited factor, we don’t need another scalper paradise but more prints and aviability.

Games@lemmy.world•Time to bring back physical media on PC?English
2·17 days agoPeople still by cds and vinyls, I don’t think is fair to compare today with the apex of physical media, an adjustment in numbers is inevitable.

Games@lemmy.world•Time to bring back physical media on PC?English
4·17 days agoYes I think we can exclude the old-days mass distribution but I think a more niche physical pc market could potentially be profitable in the future

171·17 days agoI think drm-free indie oriented publishers like Annapurna could make a lot of money with physical copies.

RetroGaming@lemmy.world•When do I have to watch out for mandatory downloads?English
6·17 days agoPS5 is also very valuable since it’s the only console with 9th gen 4k games on discs. The site doesitplay.org can tell you when a game is playable from disc without updates.

RetroGaming@lemmy.world•When do I have to watch out for mandatory downloads?English
5·17 days agoSo sad for the news; most of ps4 and ps5 games can be played from disc without an internet connection.

11·17 days agoI feel like I’m in easy mode since I finished the first Zelda relatively recently. I don’t remember if “BB” was the default name or if I just randomly pressed a couple of letter.
The problem is multiplayer competition, which is comparable to gambling addiction.

Shaders are good when used properly, usually not in 16:9 1080p LCDs; old hardware is relatively cheap and emulation not very faithful in this case. On controller side looks like there’s an 8bitdo controller but I’m not informed
, I just need a way to control X-axis(oh lol, I was confused with GameCube for the axis, in n64 you have one stick for the movement with usually standard axis.)
And emulation still isn’t perfect, I’m considering to buy it one for my crt.
Wii isn’t meant for hd you should consider WiiU for that. I have my Wii for my CRT and the 240p output is very good.
