Who confuses chlamydia and clematis? They don’t even sound similar.

Astrophysicists would be happy with a 1 ohm resistor.
Scott_of_the_Arctic@lemmy.worldtoMicroblog Memes@lemmy.world•What would you have done?English1·3 days agoUntil 1971 our currency was not decimal. Britain has undergone an extremely lengthy process of metrication that lasted from the 60s to the 90s and to this day people still use imperial units for measuring driving distance, beer and cider, body weight/height, horse height. It should be pointed out that imperial units are not the same as American units.
Scott_of_the_Arctic@lemmy.worldtoMicroblog Memes@lemmy.world•What would you have done?English2·3 days agoNo, the drug trade is truly international. You can’t buy an 1/8 in the Netherlands for example. But dealers will always use whatever unit their clientele is comfortable with. But, dealers in the states also use the metric system if they’re buying from places like Mexico or Colombia.
The United States consumes a lot of drugs but there’s almost no export from the USA to anywhere except possibly Canada.
Scott_of_the_Arctic@lemmy.worldtoMicroblog Memes@lemmy.world•What would you have done?English1·4 days agoUsually (at least in Britain) they’d be packaged into 9 ounce bags (otherwise known as a 9 bar) for distribution to dealers. It’s sold by the kg on the international market and ounces on the British market and 9 Oz is approximately 250g so it’s a handy way to convert from metric to imperial when selling to dealers.

The police report x kg of weed seized instead of x-½ because they want to look good. Dealers believe all is accounted for and you have 2 whole 9 bars to enjoy at your leisure.

But after a quick conversion, still single digit. Its pretty standard winter temperature just a little bit inland from where i live. I like it best between -15 and -5 °C (5 - 23F)

Regrettably. But it’s more of an unending torment situation than a life threatening situation. And they don’t harass you on the beach or on the mountains, just in the forest. And let’s face it, if you’re doing anything with your summer other than sitting in a boat with a fishing line, you’re doing it wrong.
The sea Sami had the right idea. Spend the summer fishing on the sea and spend the winter hunting in the forest. A lifestyle I intend to resurrect once I retire.
Sorry, I made the assumption you were from the other side of the moat. My partner is in the states at the moment and says that even the baby formula has HFCS in it. Scandinavian pickles with vinegar are fine, I just prefer the fermented polish ones.
Yes salt, water, and the lactobacillus from your hands.
That does happen TBF.
Northern Norway doesn’t have tics, snakes, or bears. Worst thing that could happen is getting gnawed on by a lemming.
I’m not a fan of high fructose corn syrup.
Nah they’re better generally.

Since transferring to academia there’s a lot less of it. But the states is on the good list for Norwegians. Which is probably why the little dude thought he would be fine and all the talk of fascism must be made up.
It’s around 2.5 per 100 000 in Norway.
