I remember as a kid having one of those encyclopedias with a bunch of cool illustrations, and it mentioned the Bermuda Triangle. It really scared me! Like wtf why was no-one doing anything about this

Thanks! Yeah I reckon you’re right - and I wouldn’t mind the challenge of finding something that fits :)
I’m not sure about obsessed, but my partner and I have started watching Stargate SG1 recently! I’ve been looking forward to our daily episode. Some really cool concepts in each episode, though it does seem to follow a formula of: the team finds some cool tech that could enhance our understanding of the universe, some crazy event happens that threatens the life of a crew member, the cool tech has to be sacrificed to save the team member. Not sure if that’s just season 1 and it gets a bit more nuanced further on?
A häagen-dazs? Colonel, what’s an American ice cream brand doing here??

I adored Red Faction: Guerrilla! I just loved the world, the destruction, and even the multiplayer was great fun. It’s an excellent sandbox.
For the Punctuated! prompt… does ‘&’ count as a punctuation mark? From what I can work out, perhaps not?

This is very impressive in terms of artistic ability, but would totally creep me out walking past it at night!
Maybe the other way around? Like the genes that survived were the ones that coded for curiosity in terms of food; encouraging early humans to explore and find more nutrient rich food to feed bigger brains. So not that our bodies ‘told us’, but we selected for the humans with those genes, and they were the ones that won out in the end.

I’ve made a start on The Lies of Locke Lamora! It’s been fun so far, with some really great worldbuilding. The last few days I haven’t had much time to read unfortunately - but hopefully come the weekend I’ll get more of a chance.

Excellent, thanks for setting this up as always! Looking forward to filling up my squares :)
Whoa, what’s happening here? Is it something to do with the light shining through earth’s atmosphere?

Just about to finish The Safekeep by Yael van der Wouden. It’s been good! Very beautifully written and such a unique setting (post war Netherlands). I’ve been reading it for my book club.
I’m thinking on starting The Lies of Locke Lamora next. It’s been on my TBR for a while!
I completed most of the squares! There were some other books I read as part of a book club. So that was somewhat out of my control, and I couldn’t find appropriate places for all of them. I’m probably going to finish one more book before the end of May, but again I don’t think that will fit anywhere.
Perhaps I could have substituted in some other squares, but I quite liked the challenge of just sticking to the originals.
(For books marked with an asterisk, see diversity stats below)
I was also keeping track of this in a spreadsheet, so here’s a nice visual representation. Dark green are hard mode:

I have a ton of books I’ve bought on offer over the last couple of years, so this was a great way of tackling my TBR in fun way. Many thanks for running it!
Edit: I like what other users have done with favourites and diversity, so I’ll add those to my post!
Yeah I thought so too. He seems sweet and I’d meet up just out of interest. Could be a nice friend going forward
So when are you meeting him? :3

Whoa this looks great! Downloading the demo later for sure
Speaking of gay, I saw a meme the other day comparing the Gulf of Oman to the anus and the strait to the second sphincter. Something along the lines of ‘if you get water past here you’ll be douching for hours’ lol. If anyone can find it let me know. Wish I’d saved it
Earlier today I finished reading Call Me by Your Name. Bittersweet and very poetic, I really enjoyed it. The book club I’m in is going to watch the film adaptation later this week.
Next up is Slaughterhouse Five. It’s been on my TBR for ages.
