I feel like i see a joke or comic like this every two months.
Here’s the thing, if you are unsure about the messages you’re receiving and decided not to act, you did the correct thing. You were wise not to interpret uncertain signals as signs of romantic interest, no matter how clear they were in hindsight. If a woman is interested in you, the onus is on her to make that unambiguous and take the next step, because she’s not the one who’s advances could be mistaken as dangerous.
You did the right thing.
Huh, the commenter mentioned it really casually but its a fun fact that Peter is actually just a nickname for the apostle Simon that does essentially mean Rocky or Rocko. The original name Petros just means rock like in the word petrified.
“sometimes it’s wildly wrong and they don’t question where it comes from”
A stark difference from google results surely
Ok, but they should logically be afraid of causing it. The only reason not to be afraid of the end of the world is if you’re going to the good afterlife.
I never got the chance to play Bloodborne because of Sony but I’ve heard its the best one. I did play through their other games after Elden Ring came out, and i wouldn’t say the problem is always the player. Fromsoft does an absolutely abismal job telling new players where to go and how to play. Elden Ring especially just expects that you already have experience with the series and that you’re going to have the wiki open on your second monitor to follow a basic questline. Personally i just dont understand that philosophy.
Videogames that intentionally break their difficulty curve with the intention of seeming elite and prestigious. I’ve suspected for a long time that games like Darksouls and Kingdom Come deliberately try to manipulate their players into getting caught in sunk cost falacies, trying to get people to blame themselves for any failure of game balancing.
Over time they’ve fostered communties which are so toxic that they will lash out at anyone trying to criticize the game. This then frees the developer from all fault and casts any grievance as the players lack of understanding, skill, or hardware. Eventually, any mistake the devs make becomes seen as an artistic choice and will be defended tooth and nail by the players.
Ya and if memory serves i think he clawed his own eyes out and committed suicide after finding out.
Does anyone know the name of the number with that many zeroes?
Thank you shepherd.com, i hadn’t heard of the single most famous sci-fi writer of the last decade.
I did not expect such a poetic response to something I wrote while drunk at 3 am
So… The lotr orcs are only “pretty orcy”?.. What exactly is this orcyness scale based on? Lotr orcs are the definitive depiction that all modern orcs are inspired by.
I’ll check those out! I find the subject super interesting.
Just in case you didn’t know, there was a big cache of gnostic texts found in Nag Hammadi but the discovery got overshadowed by the dead sea scrolls. They were very cool to look into and shed a lot of light on pre-romanized Christianity.
I wish i had something off the top of my head but I’m mostly basing this off what i remember from uni lectures.
That being said if you look up early Christianity you’ll see that women filled the roles of priests and were often responsible for spreading and maintaining the faith before its roman adoption. You can even even see this in the bible where the earliest chronological chapters are extremely sympathetic to women, then become less and less so as time goes on.
I’ll see if i can find a specific reference for you later today.
Exactly. In keeping with my other comments, that’s why some early christian sects actually viewed Eve as a hero in the story, because she freed them from ignorance… You know, back when christianity was driven by women and wasn’t just roman ideology wearing a Jesus skin mask.
I think thats a pretty solid interpretation. The gnostics have other points too though, like the vast difference in personality between the vengeful old testament god (which they claim is a separate entity) and the loving new testament god.
I wrote an essay about that once. Adam and Eve were meant to chill in the garden for literally all of eternity but were still created as curious, fallible beings with no knowledge of evil. Ergo it was logically impossible that they wouldn’t have eaten the fruit eventually, whether that was in 3 days or 3 million years.
