I mainly use Amazon because returning a product is usually pretty straightforward and I don’t know if that would be the case when ordering from the manufacturer.

131·2 months agoIt’s kinda curious that she doesn’t mention what doing this has allowed her to achieve (promotion, high position in a big company, etc). You would think she would put an emphasis on that to sell people on her way of life.
This almost sound like gambler logic. One more cock and I will make it big!

15·2 months agoOnly a third of the individual properties — which can be bought for up to $55,000 plus rent and service fees — are occupied at the moment, according to the WSJ.
Yeah no, this is not a place for wealthy people. Fucking clickbait title.

I genuinely cannot believe that they think this is a good idea. After their whole Sora thing failed, you would think they would have gotten wiser, guess that’s not the case. I cannot see a world where this thing do anything, but flop. Maybe they will sell them at a lost, but, even then, I have doubt that it will succeed.

1·4 months agoInteresting, I didn’t consider they could do it this way, but it make perfect sense. Thanks for bringing this up.

Technology@lemmy.world•Meta to start capturing employee mouse movements, keystrokes for AI training dataEnglish
28·4 months agoI wasn’t understanding what use keystrokes and mouse-clicks would have without also capturing what’s happening on screen. Turn out, they are also capturing that:
The tool, called Model Capability Initiative (MCI), will run on work-related apps and websites and will also take occasional snapshots of the content on employees’ screens

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How often do you take the "fuck it, i could die of cancer in 2 years" approach to life?English
2·5 months agoNot as much as I would like. It’s like what you said, I locked myself in a box of I can’t (I’m really risk averse XD). It’s not so bad, I try to keep myself healthy, so if I ever get out of my blockage, I will have the body to do what I set out to do.

13·5 months agoThing is, a child might be an investment for the future of society, but, for the parents, it’s just an expense. And with the cost of everything rising and wages failing to keep up, a lot of people make the realisation that they can’t afford a child.
Ah yes, the good old spamming technique.

Maybe you would be interested in ReactOS which is an operating system built from scratch to be compatible with Windows.
As for your question, you could probably make it so that it look like Linux is handling Executable files natively, but behind the scene you can’t get away from having something that convert Windows system calls into Linux system call.
