The latest season of Futurama actually illustrated this, that due to time being relative you can just slow down the simulation to reduce the requirement to run at a 1:1 performance ratio with our current environment.
It also describes that someone from flatland wouldn’t be able to tell that they’re missing out on a dimension, or quality, because it’s their only frame of reference.
Definitely not scientific in approach, but it is thought provoking around the possibility of a simulated existence.
And not to mention it was water ingress into the bloody batteries, they’re lucky (or maybe unlucky in this case) that the car didn’t burn down from the Lithium…
HMD Global is a Finnish company, run by ex-Nokia executives. It’s pretty nuch the old Nokia, seperated enough to not bankrupt the original company if it goes bad.
The phones are no more Chinese than Google and Apple.
Same here, for my ISP it’s no extra charge, they just ask you why you’re opting out
I don’t believe anything is actually copied until you request it to be pasted. The clipboards in Linux mark where the data is, and don’t actually initiate a copy until there’s a destination.
The research is from Qatar, I imagine it’s a lot harder to grow enough carrots in sandy deserts and bedrock
I’m going to get an S24 when they release, have pretty much always used Samsung when on Android.
FWIW, I understand all the complaints about bloat from duplicated applications, but a significant amount of that blame should be on Google as well. I don’t use the GMail app, but I can’t uninstall it, so it’s system bloat.
Unfortunately you can’t easily patch the fleshy thing operating the system
Similar experience with my Galaxy Watch 4 classic, had it since launch, don’t treat it carefully and I haven’t managed to damage it, and it’s been pretty much faultess for me.

Theres a general browser in the in game overlay
Completed some testing on my end, using intels PresentMon and sitting at 35fps average in New Atlantis my GPU busy is pegged at about 99% of the frame time, so nothing really.
I do get a bit of a CPU limitation when it’s raining, but nothing significant, dropped to about 30fps.
Trying at 1440p with the same settings as the 3090 above got me around 50fps, 1440p is almost half the pixels of 80% of 4k as well, so that’s not helping my GPU much!
I’ve got an 8086K and 3080, running on a 4K screen - with Ultra settings and FSR of 80% I’m getting 35-40fps, which honestly doesn’t feel too bad. It’s noticable sometimes but it’s a lot smoother than the numbers suggest.
Because my CPU is a little long in the tooth, I’ve gone probably a bit hard on the visuals, but my framerate didn’t improve much by lowering it. The engine itself has never really liked going past 60fps, so I don’t know why people expected to be able to run 100+ frames at 4k or something.
We need a LSW to run the Windows store on Linux as a pacakge manager
As far as I can see it’s only streaming Xbox Cloud, so no they probably can’t supply one
Tldr; chromium based browers are more vulnerable to password stealing malware because they encrypt with the OS user creds, Firefox would probably avoid this with a master password, as thats the primary protection of this that password managers offer.
Been super happy with my LG dishwasher over the last couple of years, it’s a bit noiser than Bosch ones I’ve seen but it cleans well and dries well too.
