I’m only in my early 30s and have no intention of not playing video games because I hit a certain age. I think a lot about this old lady I used to follow on Twitter who would review JRPGs and how cool she is (unfortunately I stopped using Twitter and don’t remember her handle). I think these days, it’s less likely for it to be “weird”, whereas I remember being a kid and hearing people say it was childish.
I was not raised religious and never went to Church. I had a period of time where I was interested in paganism and witchcraft, and I have sort of dabbled in getting back to that, but I think it is just not clicking for me right now.
I don’t know if there is a divine being that exists and if it does, is it something humans can even comprehend? I do believe in luck and karma (or at least some basic form of ‘you will harvest from the seeds you plant’). I don’t seriously believe in a heaven and hell, but I do like to imagine my loved ones in a sort of heaven, just hanging out together happily.
I am not especially a fan of how religions have been used as a tool to oppress other people. I suspect the cruel people who use religion as their hammer would find anything other excuse to be terrible if they couldn’t use religion though.
What a coincidence, I picked up the first book this weekend and started it. Netflix adaptions don’t make me very optimistic but we’ll see.
Before all this kerfluffle with the API, I have used Reddit is Fun for mobile for several years. I will be really bummed to see it go.
There are a couple reddit focused communities that I am following but my goal is eventually to just focus on these new spaces and less on reddit. I think it will take some time, and the amount of time will differ from person to person.
A story from when I was a little kid.
Back in the day, my Dad liked to go to the horse racing track to do a little betting, and he would bring myself and my brothers along. You know, give our Mom some peace and quiet for a little bit. This also meant that us kids would be able to get some concession stand snacks, like nachos. This was a big deal to us kids. Anyway, one Saturday as we were leaving the race track, some lady came to my Dad and said “Oh how sweet of you to take your grand-kids to the track with you!”. My parents had us a little later in life, so he could have reasonably been someone’s grandfather at that point. My brothers and I, being little shits, chimed in with “Yes Grandpa, thanks so much! This was fun, we love nachos!”. I don’t remember if he corrected the lady, but it was a funny story we continued to tell for years and years.
I have to give a presentation soon and I am not looking forward to it.
Even worse, today I found the bread and peaches I was gonna eat this week are moldy!! T_T The bread is over a week old so maybe it makes sense, but the peaches I just bought the other day!! It’s annoying. But hopefully things will turn around from here.
