It wasn’t that we never went in to get a drink. The problem was all your friends were outside. If you went in the house you run the risk of getting a chore or task to do. By the time you get back your friends may have moved on somewhere else. With no way to contact them you’d have to search the streets. And if you couldn’t find them again, you would be alone for a few hours. Drinking from the hose happened, but not as common as these memes suggest. At least for me.

I agree with you. My problem is with companies saying you get 2 weeks vacation. It’s really 10 days. Just started it in actual days paid. For instance if I take those days off in small chunks of 3 days at a time. I can do that only 3 times with one day left. Not 4 blocks with two more days left. I rarely take an actual week off. I just want it to be clearer.

Also when they say “weeks” they do not include weekends. You could theoretically take 3 weeks off but you are not paid for weekends. If you did it piecemeal you would have in fact 15 days. 3 sets of 5.

Yes serious question. I live in Canada, at most you might see mall security. Just people with a uniform. No weapons. Anywhere else it would be strange to see “guards”. It’s been a while since I was state side. But if it’s become this common the United States has serious problems.
