Yes. That’s why I compared the two. However when comparing caffeine to what Id argue most people think of as stimulants like cocaine or amphetamine, they have incredibly minor effects. Its like comparing <1% thc hemp and a 90% thc concentrate imo

The ephedrine plants would be precursors to stims but still need quite a bit of preparation as far as I know. You might be able to get ephedrine extracted from a plant but that’s not a stimulant in the way we would think of adderall or cocaine or something today, having a more similar effect to caffeine.

Can you try rereading what we both wrote and explain how that is at all relevant? The BBC is funded by the UK, does that inherently make it an unreliable source/ MI6 propaganda outlet? 🤡

GiveMemes@jlai.luto World News@lemmy.world•Kim Jong-un orders divorcing couples to labour camps under tough new rulesEnglish25·6 months agoIt was a cia mouthpiece from 1951 to 1955. Its modern iteration is far removed from that. While we could really get into the weeds about RFA as a source, the fact that you’re citing random cia docs from 1953 without either realizing or indicating that the CIA program was defunded 2 years later leads me to believe you aren’t interested in legitimate debate about this.
GiveMemes@jlai.luto Technology@lemmy.world•Apple pulls remaining Lightning-based devices from European storesEnglish13·6 months agoSo in rope manufacturing they have the “average breaking force” and the “safe working load” the ABF is the amount of force it takes to break a rope on average whereas the SWL is what it sounds like and is what the rope is rated to hold safely. The ABF is usually 2-10 times the weight of the SWL depending on the material but that’s because there’s a huge amount of variance in how much force different ropes that were manufactured in the same way take to break. If the ABF is 10 times the SWL, that means there were likely ropes that broke at twice the ABF. My hypothesis is that you got one of these ‘top tier ropes’ as your cable, so to speak.

Fun fact:
William Howard Taft, the 27th US president, had a custom-built bathtub installed in the White House to accommodate his size. The massive, porcelain tub was over seven feet long, 41 inches wide, and weighed a ton
I imagine the at least some portion of the criticism comes from irritated leftists as well. Harriet Tubman is basically a civ leader chosen to pander to and resonate with a certain US-centric audience, but it should be noted the lack of representation of actual African civilizations as compared to a continent like Europe. Here’s a couple maps to show what I mean:

It’s inherent imperialism and pandering that the same western countries are given so much love when there are so many really cool civs out there that haven’t been explored at all. Not to mention the fact that the majority of the African civilizations and city states that have made it into the game are centered (unsurprisingly) around the Mediterranean sea.
This is a joke, right?
Like they put millions of dollars into a random video game on the hope, wish, qnd dream that not only does it get super popular, but it does so to the point that people with access to classified documents are willing to leak them in exchange for winning an argument?
Gate to be the party pooper but lava is specifically molten rock, and rock is a mixture of multiple minerals. As single mineral is not rock. (As far as a quick Google is verifying, open to correction by an expert)
It doesn’t have to be. It’s the very nature of their instance that they remove voices that they disagree with, causing them to completely get their ideas from an echo chamber of people that they already agree with, causing the ‘critical thinking muscles’ of the brain to go out of use.
If you’re ever driving thru a rural area, try the fast food there. It tends to be a lot better as it’s in pretty direct competition to family owned restaurants in these areas and therefore tends to be fresher and stuff. Like near my grandpa’s farm the best breakfast around is the IHOP and its the best IHOP I’ve ever been to in my life by far because it has to compete with mom and pops diners at similar price points whereas in more populated areas the mom and pops places tend to be more expensive than fast food.

.world threads are far enough left that many of us would have been imprisoned under mccarthyism. Tankies do exist, which I know from interacting with them, and simping for authoritarian regimes is not leftism. Tankies don’t challenge my preconceived notions any more than nazis… they just don’t.
