Guess what? This user has been avidly online since the BBS days and really … posters such as yourself were very annoying back then, too.
This seemingly simple thing enrages me on a daily basis.
How difficult can it fucking be to write some damn code to omit “the” from sorting if it is the first word of a title? JFC
If “the” appears first, then “ignore” must surely be a thing, right??

iPhone 15 (the most recent model without AI) is perfectly adequate for most people.
Goddamn …. That is a thing of horrific beauty. I saved it immediately.
(I’m a technical writer so it should be fun to go through this ancient tome)
Gismonda@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Rep. Gerry Connolly, top Democrat on House Oversight Committee, dies at 756·7 days agoIn the case of many GenX folks: “our turn” will never arrive. The Boomers refused to fucking retire and make room for us, and younger generations conflate us with Boomers because “old is old”.
Meanwhile we are working our asses off helping our elderly parents navigate an increasingly hostile health system (yay, capitalism) while giving our adult children a place to live or money to survive an increasingly impossibly expensive society. Can’t afford to save for retirement either.
“Hooray”
(fyi - I also think that term limits are the way to go here - finish your terms, then gtfo. None of this waiting around for 20 years for “my turn” and certainly none of that “just wheel the old corpse in and tell her how to vote” bullshit either)
This is a good one to start with. You can download it for free.

And thank you for the reminder to dig around until I find that obscure forum post that had the wiring diagram and instructions on how to disable Starlink on Subarus.
This happened to me literally every single session at this one particular gym.
The worst offender was the dude who suddenly plopped down next to me (which was startling) while I was on the floor doing ab work and just started jabbering away. I just pointed to my ear bud and motioned him away.
Mother fucker, I’m here to work on my fitness, not talk to every rando that decides to chat me up.
I cancelled my membership that morning.
(Note that I am a woman)

And if so, that’s a double “fuck you” to Joe and everyone on his staff trying to keep this shit under wraps.
He should have just resigned the goddamn Presidency when he was first diagnosed JFC
Infidelity is somewhat common but I would say it’s not “normal” at all to openly discuss and laugh about it at dinner with a bunch of people that you haven’t seen for years.
Seriously- wtf is wrong with these people? That one person sounds especially horrible.
Also - don’t go to any more reunions. I’ve managed to avoid 40 years of that shit and I like to believe that I’m happier for it!

Agreed…Lemmy slightly reminds me of the early days of Internet forums/chatrooms/etc.
Yes, I’m old.
I only cared when I was poor and living paycheck to paycheck.
