What on earth are you talking about? Generational wealth is not a binary thing. There are people rich enough to pass their fortune to their kids and then there are ones who can’t. That’s how it has always been and that’s how it’s always going to be.
Independent thinker valuing discussions grounded in reason, not emotions.
I say unpopular things but never something I know to be untrue. Always open to hear good-faith counter arguments. My goal is to engage in dialogue that seeks truth rather than scoring points.

What’s infuriating about this? Why the heck should I inherit something I haven’t worked for? I’ve always told my parents and grandparents that dying with an empty bank balance is the ideal way to go. Hell, preferably be in debt.
There’s not much left to browse if one blocks all communities on lemmy that people post politics to. You can’t even discuss electric cars or space travel anymore without people coming to tell you their opinions about Elon Musk.
It’s not even memes. People are literally posting here screenshots of political opinions that are not even intented to be entertaining. I’m pretty sure there’s a dedicated community for political memes but nah, everything needs to be injected with politics nowdays.
The fault in our stars was so sad I wish I hadn’t ever watched it. I hate that movie.
Not a meme.
That’s what you call it when people don’t agree with your narrative? “Derailing the conversation?”
I did Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for a while untill after the 3rd injury I realised this isn’t going to be good on the long run and I stopped doing it. However, it was long enough to see what a magical power that is so I’d say that being able to posses the skills of a black belt without going thru the training would be quite nice.
People don’t realise how helpless you’ll feel trying to wrestle with someone who knows what they’re doing. Being bigger and stronger will not save you unless you get really lucky.
Similar argument can be used to justify the murder of many other people we would otherwise deem good. This is not the way. There’s a reason we no longer act like we did during the middle ages. It’s not for individual rogue actors to choose who gets to live and who doesn’t. That’s not a world anyone wants to live in.
I’m not saying it’s inconceivable that the murder of such a person could lead to positive change, but the murderer themselves should not be celebrated - they should be treated for what they are: a murderer. Encouraging vigilante justice will not create the kind of world people naively imagine. Not everyone agrees on who the “bad people” are.
This kind of violence will eventually be directed at our heroes too, and anyone celebrating people like Luigi will then have no moral ground to stand on from where to condemn that violence. It’s exactly what they asked for.
Maybe if we just go around shooting everyone whose better off that ourselves then one day we’ll all be equally poor and miserable.
Is it okay for hospital to murder one random healthy person if you can then take their organs and save 5 people?
The amount of hate I get every time when I call out political opinions posted as “memes” is incredible. Every time it’s either some mental gymnastics about how it actually counts as meme or alternatively ad-hominem accusations about my underlaying motives of only calling out left-wing political memes and never right-wing ones (I wonder why).
The truth is that my feed is almost exclusively politics despite me blocking every single political instance other than the ones for general news. I bet there’s even a community dedicated to political memes but no. Some people absolutely have to inject their political views everywhere.
You kidding me? Why would any sane person think murder is bad?
I said yay murder. I think we need more of it from both political sides especially. I don’t want anyone to ever feel safe. I think the bigger should rule the weaker and the ones with guns the ones without. Also fuck elections. Let’s just shoot the candidates we don’t like untill we come across someone everyone is for and then lets shoot them too.
By Dawknin’s original definition (cultural) memes are ideas, behaviors, styles, or practices that spread within a culture by imitation (Greek mimema, meaning “imitated”) and carry symbolic meaning. Some examples would be the “Keep Calm And Carry On” posters during WW2, the concept of the “American Dream” or toasting with glasses.
However in this context we’re talking about internet memes which is not synonymous with cultural memes. An internet meme is a picture or video that is funny, ironic, or relateable.
Billion dollars grows by 70 million passively per year. Next year you have 1,070,000,000 which grows by 74.9 million and next year by 80 million and so on. Basically the more money you have the easier it is to make more money.
Also, a billionaire doesn’t have billion dollars in the bank. That’s not what being a billionaire means.
It’s called compounding interests and it’s not just for the rich. You can take advantage of it too. I sure do.
Inheritance from who? Your poor parents?
