  • So you say that we don’t know for sure that those were water pipes from the EU? Who cares if that detail is verified? Instead of actually working on improving the infrastructure, they destroy existing infrastructure to build weapons. That is the issue. Not whether or not that really was funded by the EU, that is/would be the cherry in top. Seeing how much money indeed was pushed into Gaza for aid, for example 600 million $ in 2020, it raises a lot of questions how much of that ended up financing weapons for Hamas instead of helping the people in Gaza.

    Random, generalizing comment:

The people saying “Violence isn’t the answer” are the people who don’t want to see anything change

50 upvotes. Comment actually based on real data that happens to show that the original premise is actually wrong: 0 upvotes. Why is Lemmy exactly like Reddit? I thought people coming here were a bit more aware of ideologies etc.

  • As much as I want to agree, there is not a big difference. You can switch to different subreddits the same as instances here. In both cases you will lose out on a lot of stuff and only if lots of people do it would it actually work. But then sometime happens in that new place and another group of people leaves. So you end up with 10 different pockets that are all too small to be relevant… great. You need to compromise is what it boils down to. But how much? Very hard question.
