  • The reason you need permits and licensed contractors to do most work on your home is because most people would rather have something convenient and cheap then care about property values. Take an inspector to a random open house in your neighborhood and ask them how much stuff they find wrong and use that to see if the owner will lower the price of the house. Then watch how quickly you get laughed out because they already have half a dozen offers over asking price, which is probably already inflated as is. The housing market in America is a joke since COVID.

  • Looking at the other comments I guess it depends on the state. I’m in my 30s and have had a few friends over the years tell me that they sued, and won, their employers for missing breaks. Needless to say all of my managers/bosses have gone out of their way to make sure I get my breaks to avoid that happening. I have even heard of situations where people just randomly get a check in the mail because somebody else sued the company and after an audit it was discovered that the company was not allowing for proper breaks. This forced all past employees to get compensated for it. California in case you’re wondering.

  • You’re looking at this problem all wrong, it’s not that children cannot consent. Nobody is arguing that. The change here is that now those that would be doing the tests are no longer considered child predators because they didn’t do anything illegal. So now it would be totally fine for priests, doctors, senators, neighbors, etc to look at random kids genitals to verify sexuality without any resistance from their parents/guardians. Is this how we finally do away with rapists, by redefining sexual assault.
