Most of the machines are limited by staff, not equipment in terms of overall load. They may be fully in use during peak times, but that’s mostly because it’s convenient to book people for non urgent appointments during the day.

I was in the ER for 14 hours a month ago waiting to see the doctor, but I had my xray within 20 minutes of arriving at triage, and a CT within a half hour of a doctor looking at the xray and deciding I needed more imaging.

It’s the same thing with things like operating rooms.

It’s honestly probably better putting that amount of money into trying to get a better job over that time period via education, or taking time off to apply for new positions, or something similar.

$6000 total investment over 10 years even with decent interest on top would be made up in less than 2 years with a $5k raise.

As much as I dislike private health care, for something like an international sports tournament I almost think fifa should just give a bunch of cash to the health ministry so they can have extra overtime staff on shift, and those staff can treat normal patients during that period unless they are needed for the athletes. That way everyone benefits and it all stays within the bounds of the normal system here.

When this happens, it means the laws that enable these people are no longer acceptable to the people. That’s a dangerous place to be.

Living on the west coast of Canada, where we talk about Tsunamis fairly regularly, I’ve never heard anyone add a T sound to Tsunami at the start. Only Sue-Nah-Me

It’s not at all like the T sound in Japanese followed by the S sound. The normal T sound in Japanese is pronounced by putting your tongue behind your top teeth and flicking your tongue down a bit. Tsu on the other hand starts with your tongue below your top teeth, and your cheeks pulled together a bit.

It’s also nothing like the TS in Mats in english.

It is a travesty, but no party who gains enough power to lead a government in Canada has any incentive to change the system. The party currently in power always has the most to lose from it.

Strange conceptions?

Tsunami doesn’t start with a T sound, It’s just a strange artifact of the romanization of the Japanese sounds. It’s not exactly a S sound either. The sound it’s supposed to be just doesn’t have an english equivalent at all, so they made up something close-ish but it does a poor job of communicating that.

The one Japanese mis-pronunciation that bothers me is that Tokyo only has two Syllables, To-Kyo, not To-Ky-O like almost all western people pronounce it as. Kyoto has the same problem, It’s Kyo-to, not Ky-O-To.

Not really. The jury will decide if this particular person is guilty or not, but either way a man was murderer and that’s an illegal action by whomever did it.

Legally, the murder was wrong. Full stop. There’s no legal argument here that it wasn’t. It may not have been the guy they caught, but someone was murdered and legally that’s wrong.

Morally though, it’s a lot more gray. It’s pretty easy to prove that health insurers policies have literally been killing people thousands of people a year at at a minimum and even if it’s legal for some reason, that’s also still morally wrong. Attacking someone who’s attacking other people is usually called defending.

Some governments can do it for some industries.

Public healthcare in most developed countries is generally pretty decent, though obviously not without flaws the allocation is clearly better for society than the US private healthcare system.

For allocation of food, it’s pretty shit. Too many people want too many different things in that scenario and it has never really worked in practice.
