I’m not sure I’ve ever fallen more in love with a process than lost wax casting and its foam cousin, from the moment a tutor showed me a polystyrene cylinder head I was hooked lol. I’ll get a setup going some day.

Honestly images were a step too far. And bring back the blink tag.
Is flutter still a thing?

Have a look at the MSFT share price in 2014 when he took over ~$45/share and now ~$470/share - of course investors love him, he’s 10x their investments since he was appointed.

Technology@lemmy.world•MegaLag - The Honey Scam is Worse Than I ThoughtEnglish
3·4 days agoI was going to make a joke about big bee and then remembered actual honey is a huge fraud as well, a significant portion of what’s sold as honey isn’t actually honey. Need a good docu on that too.
Alas, Scandinavia and Germany have been brief visits.
I’m not really sure what point you’re trying to make, staring at someone’s bicep is also creepy. No-one’s saying “you may not ever look at breasts” the staring is the issue.
Forehead, shoulder, shoulder, rotate as necessary.
The last bit of this sounds rapey as fuck.
I’m curious about your shoe example. I would feel perfectly comfortable complimenting someone’s shoes and asking about them, for example:
“I love your shoes, those stripes on the side are funky, where did you get them?” Seems like a relatively normal conversation.
However, “I love your tits, the way your nips poke out is awesome, were you born with them?” Seems inappropriate.
Do you not see any distinction here?
Where are these less repressed nations? I’ve been to lots of places in Europe and the suggested boobtopia has yet to present itself. It’s not uncommon to see a topless woman on a beach, but it’s far from the majority I’ve seen.
OMG NSFW!

1·7 days agoI’m fairness the only time I remember being in a phone store in the last decade was because I got an esim when I got my new phone, phone company didn’t send me a qr code to get the esim and I lost access to my account because I couldn’t receive an SMS because my old physical SIM was disabled.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•All the "useless" things we learn in school are there to teach us to learn.English
1·8 days agoI’ve never touched on the unit circle or conic sections as part of formal education, so I can’t really comment. The quadratic formula - occasionally. Almost all of the maths I learned at school until age 16 was practical or useful in some sense. In the UK maths is optional after the age of 16.
I’d argue my maths education at high school level gave me a sturdy understanding of day to day maths, the building blocks for more advanced topics and the knowledge that certain tools exist and how to use them should I need them. I won’t remember the specifics of everything, but a quick refresher is usually enough.
Again, most of the more advanced stuff in the UK is optional and mostly not done by anyone who won’t want to carry that on to a more advanced level - usually a degree with a STEM adjacent subject.

2·8 days agoI mean your original argument was it was more convenient - everyone having to buy a milk bag holder already seems less convenient than one guy inserting a few shims in a few moulds every couple of months.
