  • Missing an extremity is an actual medical condition… I get your point about other kinds of conditions that are congenital or otherwise not directly due to physical harm. PTSD would be a good example of what could have been included in that case as well (this might actually exist in some form from disney). With how poorly so much of it was handled, it’s probably for the best that they didn’t try to tackle autism or Downs syndrome at the same time though.

  • I’m curious for your reasoning behind this. Is this lack of knowledge outside of the movies/disney meta? Lack of knowledge about the writing behind it? Do you know shit about Star Wars instead? I’m actually curious what you mean because so many fans know so many different fragments of an almost unattainably large lore space that you sound incredibly wrong and right at the same time.

  • I’m sure the other rock/liquid/gas burning plants have had no issues along their lifetime and had no hand in demonizing the “new” slowly exploding rock technology after extreme negligence let the one big one happen. /s

I’d take the band aid of nuclear in my backyard vs what we rely on now after learning all of the insider knowledge of someone who personally worked in energy generation that did all of this plus renewables almost their entire professional life.

  • Yeah the most upsetting part is that a soulless cash grab between a historically great athlete that could’ve not gotten involved and a hack influencer with a strong following of youths happened at all. It’s teaching young minds that money means everything and tricks them into thinking any part of this fight was fair or real. It makes boxing look bad, especially after watching a very legitimate and hard fought match minutes earlier. Jake needs to fight someone who’s a real competitor. No more retirees, basketball players, etc. If this was two old guys boxing then it would have felt very different to me. The match sucked and the viewer was the biggest loser throughout all of it.

  • Sorry this is months after, but it’s cool to see it worked. I use a software called XXX Agile and it’s not the worst I work with but when ported to my company has some flaws. There’s a long project to switch somewhere else for document control and people who should know much better than me are worried it will fill some gaps but open us up to way more.

  • This is my biggest concern. I’m in a position where (potentially in the near future) I see AI being used as an excuse to do work quicker so we can focus on other things more but still have to review the AI response before agreeing/signing off. Reviewing for accuracy takes just as long as doing it yourself when it’s strongly regulated and it comes down to revisions and document numbers. Much less making a sound argument that actually is up to date with that documentation. So either I trust the AI short cut and open myself up to errors, or redo all the work for them. No gain in time efficiency with shorter timelines. I’d rather make something and have it flag things that I can check so I’m more sure of my own work. What I do shouldn’t be faster, but it can be more error free. It would take a lot of training and updating of training with each iteration of documentation change. I could be the slave of change, with more expectations, with no actual improvement of the tools I have (in fact more risk of issues with the tools being used).

  • I’m not an expert just parroting info from Jayz2cents (YouTuber), but the big AI groups are using $10,000 cards for their stuff. Individuals or smaller companies are taking/going to take what’s left with GPUs to do their own development. This could mean another GPU shortage like the mining shortage andi would assume another bust would result in a flooded used market when it happens. Could be wrong, but he’s been correct pretty consistently with his predictions of other computer related stuff. Although, 10K is a little bit less than your fully loaded SUV example.

  • I totally agree with your outlook and made a pretty similar post to yours a couple minutes ago. My only addition would be some concern as to why it seems like attacks are causing the downtime. The attacks do encourage improvement, but why do it in the first place. I’m hoping bored enthusiasts. At least it wouldn’t be BS corporate attacks trying to eliminate competition.

  • As a user with pretty limited knowledge on servers, I appreciate how easy it is to flip from instance to instance. One goes down and I use a backup account somewhere else. I’m really not keeping close attention to which one I’m on at the moment. It gives me access and lets me comment/post. I’m not trying to build any profile so it doesn’t matter. I could see a major poster or mod want multiple accounts with the same name for consistency sake though.
