And like already mentioned: it’s not less liability, it’s separate liability. Misconduct as a business (which may not even be the owner’s fault, it could be an employee’s) can risk all of the business assets, but not personal assets owned outside the business.

Because the line does need to be drawn somewhere. You can’t just go out, cause harm to someone, and then claim “Oh, that harm was done by my company, not me personally. Incidentally, my company only has like $20 in assets for you to recover.”

The paperwork also doesn’t entirely grant you the limited liability. You need to actually operate the company as a separate entity from yourself. If you “piece the veil” between individual and company, you may not be able to claim limited liability in court.

Because if we didn’t have such protections, the ONLY people who could ever afford to go into business are the already-super-wealthy.

Nobody would ever open a small business if it meant risking the roof over their childrens’ head.

I’m with you about not anthropomorphizing faceless companies as the bad actors here, but also I really doubt the CEO was the one who enacted this decision. It probably came from some middle manger who clicked “yes” on some report they didn’t actually read.

Factorio has seen tons of bugs in its development. It just so happens that the developers are some of the most effective bug squashers in the world of software development.

The knuckles/rogue levels were a cool concept but the execution was flawed. I enjoyed them for the most part.

Was gonna say, I didn’t see any of the three chao boxes on that level, though they didn’t go out of their way to get them since that wasn’t the point of the demo.

Humans have been drinking/cooking cows’ milk for over ten thousand years. That’s not the kind of worldwide cultural change you just snap your fingers and call it done.

Not to mention the food shortage it would cause to just get rid of one of the most common foods worldwide.

Went out for lunch and ordered WAY too much (I ordered the lunch special which I thought came with one entree, but instead got a lunch special AND an entree) so I’m skipping dinner today.

But lunch was a full serving of goat korma, plus small portions of dal, rice, tandoori chicken, some curry I don’t remember, a samosa, rice, and naan. Ate till I was full and took home lots of leftovers.

For a similar reason that most coaches don’t actually participate with the athletes they’re training: their job is to watch the athletes, look for gaps in their technique, and help them to address those. You can’t look for that as effectively if you’re swimming alongside them compared to standing on the side of the pool.

But yeah, all “learn HOW to swim” lessons I’ve ever seen have the instructor in the water with the student, because they have to be like 25% teacher 75% lifeguard.
