  • This is a classic tactic cause you can scan them without scratching them at the store and filter out any actual winners and just leave people with essentially nothing.

When I worked as a cashier there was a real estate agent who bought scratchers all the time and did exactly this. If one of them won more than like 50 bucks he cashed it and took all the worthless/low value ones. Then all his clients would get them in the mail for Xmas.

  • Yeah I started suspecting something like find could be impacting younger generations fertility rates as well but most the people I have known had issues on the woman’s end… Like endomitriosis causing blockages etc. I haven’t spent a lot of time researching it myself but I wouldn’t be surprised that not only are we economically disadvantaged but the rampant pollution is also driving lower birth rates for those who even try

  • I agree with most the points others in this thread make about the economy having gotten worse such that it discourages more kids… I have a decent job and if I had a second child I think I would never have a chance at retirement.

I am also curious about rising infertility… My wife and I had go through ivf to even have one child… This after 7 years of trying…

Several of our peers and friends have struggled with this as well… It could just be a coincidence but we only know around 20 other couples outside of work and at least 6 of them have not been able to produce children naturally.

  • I’ll chime in that a degree in accounting or finance can get you far… Most here will mention engineering/medical/programming. They also will likely bemoan the finance and accounting folks they work with as useless.

I’ll agree that due to many burrecratic choices c-suite leadership make there are a ton of inefficiencies but there is always a ton of work to be done and the skills can transfer to quite a bit of companies… Even very large corporations just end up having horribly inefficient processes and constant churn in leadership switches it up a lot… So if your someone who knows accounting and finance well and can think learn to bridge the never ending gap in tools and people requesting data you can do well.
