That sounds awesome. I just use my iPhone and hold my monocular up to it.
I got to see crows mobbing a peregrine falcon today in my yard so that was pretty exciting.

My wife calls these the “Guy Fieri” of birds.
Sandhill Cranes. Kensington Metro Park in Milford, Mi.
I was at a Metropark where a lot of people visit the bird trails with seed in their pocket, so I think it’s familiarity.
Very gentle thankfully!

Are those native to Germany?
It’s just a monocular and my iPhone 13, the lack of sunlight helped my cause I think.
Bushnell Legend 10x42mm Ultra High Definition Monocular is my scope. I love it.
Yeah I just make sure there’s no coffee residue in the basket or the carafe. Yerba is pretty bitter so the Moccamaster technique seems to mellow it out. Plus, the name brand I bought is really dusty so I get a nice clean cup brewing it through the paper filter.
I’ve made Yerba mate in my Moccamaster before, just have to clean it real well before you do. It comes out really good and better tasting than if I steep.
What’s the water in the carafe for, are you heating it for something?
I’ve been looking for those all the past 2 months. Got to see some hooded merganser’s instead though so I can’t complain.
I miss all the fly catchers
My Moccamaster booklet says to, so I do it.
t’s to not take away from the bloom. If your filter is dry then your first coffee goes in to the filter and not in to your carafe/cup.
I still haven’t been to Stoney. I grew up downriver so I spent more time at Erie and Willow.
I don’t mind paying. Macomb county is ugly so it’s nice to have a little slice of nature and I’ll support that. It does wonders for my sanity.
The Ford House is a really nice spot for birding too.
We’ve been having a Cooper’s Hawk visit our yard lately, my wife and I have been loving it.
I’m always on the look out for Kestrel’s too.
I never made that correlation, they sound really cool. Bald eagles, on the other hand, sound very underwhelming.
No there’s definitely a good amount. I’ve just not seen anything but juvenile ones that I could identify. I’ve only been in to birding since the summer really so my sample size is still pretty small.
