Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How all do you use AI/ML in life? Especially offline usesEnglish
1·21 hours agoIt is, right?
The AGI and their stuff about sentience seems mostly marketing by the corporates. Have there been any serious changes on it, right?
Tho, our concept of sentience will probably be tested while they actually test if it can be developed.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why are there so many bots on reddit? And why is it so left leaning?English
10·1 day agoReddit is pretty ‘Right leaning’, having ‘Centre-Right’ or ‘Pro-imperialist Centrist’ dominance.
Lemmy is an opensource equivalent and has enough left-leaning people who left reddit. The main Lemmy developers are socialists/communists
At the same time, have heard of right wing Lemmy instances too, even ones which mimic reddit-style too. Were the political discussions good and matching the topic of the communities? If so, it is better than many reddit subs that force arbitrary apolitical neutrality, right?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Any similar features in popular apps or extensions that may be good to know of? This one is from uBlock Origin(in Firefox)English
2·1 day agoI did not ask the question in fdroid.
I remembered this feature in a Lemmy convo. I searched for the link and info to comment there. After that, thought that it would be good to share to fdroid sub, as it would apply there.
After that, thought whether there would other features like this in popular apps or extensions. So asked here.
Do you categorise this as spam because you saw it in 2 communities? Wouldn’t spam need more copies? Or is it something unwanted?

2·5 hours agoBecause of the question on similar features in apps or extensions.
Should I edit the title to only have the question? The part about uBlock in the post body only?

21·1 day agoTechnology cannot be unethical, right?
It’s use/application, safety regulation aspects, ownership etc. would be the focus, right? The corporations who supports copyrights are stealing data(from others and other corporations) for training AI.
By calling the technology unethical, we are letting them off the hook by making it vague and on the technology, rather that their decision to not provide credit or remuneration for the original data creators, right?

1·2 days agoI suggest that the post title be edited to something like ‘This sub is not for Technical Support for Lemmy’
Would be good for people who are not native speakers of English or new to the community/lemmy(though the post body does clarify what the title means. And this post is quite old now, so would a change be unnecessary?)@14specks@lemmy.ml
Mentioning as you seem to be the most recently active mod of the community

Was recommended a ADHD online test in another post on this similar topic. It said that I likely did not have it.

There seem to be offline models for many languages other than English too.I agree. People need to focus on the AI ownership aspect more. Should it not come under public control or oversight?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How all do you use AI/ML in life? Especially offline usesEnglish
72·3 days agoWhy? Opensource AI is good if it is the corporate ownership and data safety aspect, right?
Why use Google translate when you can use offline opensource models to get translation? Why send your data to Google or some other company?
Also, you don’t need internet connectivity for offline models.
